TRIGGERS: some angry words ?
Ashe took Lucas out to the canyons, and the two of them sat on a ridge, legs dangling, and they were so high up the town lay sprawled out beneath their feet.
Lucas fiddled with his fingers while Ashe stood behind him. He could physically feel her anger, but he was waiting for her to make the first move.
"I know you were the one who disabled the Wildflowers in that fight," Ashe finally said. "That made my team able to go in and out without any losses. Thank you."
Lucas twisted around, mouth open, but she held up a hand, and he silenced.
"That doesn't mean I'm not incredibly fucking angry, kitten," Ashe hissed, pulling him up to stand pressed against her, faces close. "You went straight into the middle of a gang war, and decided to start shooting. I never want you to put yourself in that kind of danger again, understand?"
Lucas nodded, and she studied him for a minute before sliding her hand to rest on the nape of his neck, fingers tangling in his hair. She brought their heads close, her free hand coming up to cup his jaw. He leaned his forehead against hers, and placed his hand on her chest, feeling her heartbeat fluttering wildly. That was when Lucas realized she'd been scared. He pulled back to stare at her before she pulled him into a bruising kiss.
This wasn't like how she had kissed him in the parking lot in his school. No, that had been deep and sweet, but this... this was pure passion. She kissed him with an urgency that he hadn't seen on her before. She kissed him like he was going to die tomorrow, and this was the last night she was going to see him. Ashe kissed Lucas like there were a thousand other suitors vying for his attention, and she was trying to hold on to him, to let them know that he was hers. She kissed him desperately, tongue slipping into his mouth and swallowing down his whimpers. When they broke apart, she held him close, like she didn't want to ever let him go.
By the time the sun began to dip down toward the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the two of them, she sat back on her hands and Lucas was lying in between her legs, her cowboy hat on his lap. The soft, worn leather felt familiar under his fingers as he traced patterns. She had been telling him of her early, glorious days with McCree, and the two of them had fallen into a lapse in conversation that was not at all strained.
Suddenly she sat up, and wrapped around Lucas' back, whispering in his ear. "Do you trust me?" He nodded, without hesitation. She gripped his hands and spun him around to stand before fishing out her DEADSHOT bandanna and folding it so that it was one straight line. She lifted it up to his face, but stopped a little away from his eyes.
Lucas could still see her. "You have to trust me, kitten."
There was a pause, in which he hesitated. But then he leaned forward slightly, pressing his face to the cloth. Ashe smiled, even though Lucas couldn't see it, and tied the bandanna around his head.
Then she lead him back to her bike, and helped him climb on to it, and laced his arms around her stomach. Lucas lost himself in the roar of the engine and Ashe's steady heart.
I really liked this chapter. More to come, hope you enjoyed!
