Right after I closed my eyes, I heard the front door go off. I tried to hear the voices coming from the living room but all I can hear was the loud ass tv talking. So I tried to go back to sleep. But then I heard footsteps close to my bedroom. I moved a bit grabbing my gun from the drawer next to my bed. I only had two bullets in the gun so I gotta make this shit count.

I heard some shuffling around my closet area and someone looking in my drawers and magnolia drawers. I quickly got up from bed pointing the gun at the intruder. He turn to me with wide eyes. I didn't know what he look like cause he had on a ski mask. But he had a lot of tattoos. "Look man, just put the gun down or I will hurt you and your girl"

"Why you in my house?!"I yelled.

"Put the gun down!! I have kids man!!"he yelled back. I cock the gun back ready to shoot him.

"I don't care!! You need to leave now!!"I yelled. Just then Charlotte came in the room looking at us. "Call the police Charlotte!!"

"Please don't alright!! ima get out your house"the man said. He turn to the door quickly grabbing Charlotte. She drop the phone on the ground screaming out for help. "Put the fucking gun down before I blow her head off"the man took a gun out shoving it to Charlotte head.

"Don't. She's pregnant"I spoke.

"You think I give a fuck. I have kids myself and you told me you don't care"he said with a smile. "So I don't care if she's pregnant"

"Silas do someth...."

"Shut up!!"The man yelled. "Now listen to me. Put the gun down and give me all your money"

"I don't have that much"—"All I have is $400 on me"I said putting my gun down.

"I know you have some more"the man said.

"Nah. I actually did but spent it on getting me a new car"I said. I'll talk about that later.

He held on to Charlotte tighter and sigh heavily. "Alright give me the $400"he mumble. Charlotte sniffle while closing her eyes. I nodded my head at the man reaching for my pants on the ground.

I grab my wallet taking out my 400 dollars. "Once I give you the money, please let her go"I spoke. I handed him the money slowly. He let go of Charlotte and counted the money.

He smiled at me and then Charlotte. "Congratulations to y'all"he left out the room going downstairs to the living room. I followed him out the apartment closing the door.

"Can't believe that happened"i whispered to myself. Charlotte came downstairs looking at me shocked. "Did you know he was inside?"

"No I was sleep when he broke in. When I heard y'all yelling, that's when I woke up and went upstairs"

"Why would come upstairs?"I ask. "You could of called the police"

"I tried but I forgot my phone was dead"Charlotte said. "I'm sorry Silas"

"It's fine"
