Yoongi knew something was up, he couldn't exactly pinpoint when or where it happened, but Hoseok had started acting strange, distant, with him. Yoongi had an inkling it had something to do with the snack trip that Seokjin and Hoseok went on the night prior. When they were gone for so long, and only Seokjin came back, saying something about how Hoseok wasn't feeling well and went to go rest early.

And then when Yoongi went to bed, Hoseok was already asleep.

All day it seemed as if Hoseok was avoiding him, not physically necessarily, but emotionally. And Yoongi was desperate to find out as to why. As the sun had begun to set across the shore and the group had started to pack up their things on the beach and head back to the house, Yoongi was about to go ask Seokjin what happened the previous night, when Hoseok gave a small tug on his shirt, "Yoongi hyung? Could I...um, if you have a minute I mean, I was wondering if I could talk to you for a second...?"

Yoongi's heart tugged painfully, eyes going impossibly soft, "Yes, of course sweetheart. Anything for my princess." Before looking back and yelling towards the rest, "You five go on ahead, we'll catch up later!"

"Alright, don't be out too late now." Namjoon gave them an amusing smile, following Jungkook and Taehyung back up to the house.

Hoseok noticed Seokjin's hard gaze on him, and he tried to avoid it when he felt Jimin's hand gently rest on his arm, his gaze concerned. Hoseok simply nodded, resting his own hand atop Jimin's, "I'm okay, you go with your boyfriends and figure out dinner. Yoongi hyung and I will be there soon."

Jimin bit his lip as if he wanted to protest, but eventually nodded in defeat, "Okay, just...you know I'm here."

"Yeah, I know." Hoseok whispered as he watched Jimin run after the rest, away from the shore.

"Seok-ah...is everything okay? Are you alright sweetheart?" Yoongi asked the moment they were alone, seeing Jimin treat Hoseok with so much concern and care lit a fire in his heart that told him that he wasn't the only one who noticed Hoseok's change in demeanor.

Hoseok simply smiled softly, gently wrapping his hand around Yoongi's, who intertwined their fingers imediably, before leading him back down to where the water kissed the sand. "Will you go on a walk with me, Yoongi hyung? There's something I want to tell you. And it's not easy for me to talk about...but I...I have to tell you. You deserve to know."

Yoongi followed into step with Hoseok, a leisurely pace that would be calming with the water gently hitting their feet with every step, with the setting sun kissing their skin, the steady drum of the waves painting the air. It would be calming, absolutely, if Yoongi's heart didn't feel like it was ripping at the seams. "Whatever you want to tell me, I'll listen. I promise. But only if you're ready."

Hoseok took a deep breath, "You know, I don't think I'll ever be ready." Looking towards Yoongi with a gentle gaze, an even softer smile, "But I want you to know. Even if it's hard to bring this up and talk about this, of all people, I want it to be you that I tell this story to."

"Okay." Yoongi nodded, giving Hoseok's hand a reassuring squeeze.

"Okay." Hoseok echoed, nodding to himself as he looked up towards the fading sky, "Well, where do I start? I guess I should start with how Woohyun and I met."

"Woohyun...?"

"Yeah. My first love, first heartbreak, and the reason why I'm...well, the reason why I'm here." Hoseok looked over towards the sea, "We were like, childhood friends I guess you could say. Our families were close, and it just seemed natural for Woohyun and I to become closer as we grew up together."
