"Don't tell me we're staying here." Lani cringed as they came up towards a poorly looking motel and the man who she soon came to know was named Dick Grayson rolled his eyes, choosing not to answer.

"I still can't believe he traded in the porsche for a minivan." Gar deflated physically as he looked genuinely sad about it. Lani agreed too, whole heartedly.

"This, we can all fit in." He defended, referring to their vehicle and checking the rearview mirrors on the side. His voice sounded dead as if he was bored. Lani grew used to his constant monotone voice.

"I like the van." Kory voiced her opinion. Lani quietly disagreed while looking out the window. Seeing the motel in such a depressing mood made her feel just as depressed but she chose to keep quiet, making unnecessary noises of discontent.

"We're not actually staying here, are we?" Rachel asked, bringing the topic back to Lani's question. She looked towards the motel as well, judging it.

"You know, there's probably a nicer place down the road." Kory suggested. Lani rushed forward, popping her head in between the two adults, nodding her head.

"Yeah, let's go there. I got some money to lose." She was quick to agree as she brought up a stack of a couple of hundreds, making Dick look at it and then at her with a suspicious gaze.

"How did you manage to get that kind of money?" He asked, Lani shrugging as she looked at the money and smelt it, loving the smell of money. She released a sigh of genuine happiness.

"I...know a lot of people." She replied, suspiciously as she moved back to her seat and hid the money. Seeing the two teenagers beside her eyeing out the money as well and shoved it further into her pocket. She didn't know a lot of people but she knew enough. Truth be told, a lot of people owed her back at her hometown since she used to lend money to her friends in hopes to stay friends. Never lasted more than a year.

"We're being hunted by sociopaths. Nicer places draw attention." Dick said as if he had been through this before. He had.

"Yeah? Well, they also make it easier to sleep." Kory added as Lani clapped slowly, completely agreeing with her. Kory smiled at her playful antics while Dick glared at her.

"One road in. Same road out. Only one point of access we have to watch and also...it's quiet. If trouble comes our way, we should hear it first." He said as he pointed to the motel and Lani slouched in annoyance as Dick took off his seat belt.

"And who said anything about sleeping?" He added as Lani's eyes widened, taking off her seat belt too as she hopped out of the car, looking at Dick perplexed.

"Are you saying we're not sleeping tonight?!" Lani worriedly said, shocked as Dick ignored her, walking into the motel to get their room keys. Kory looked at Lani weirdly, a sense of humour and responsibility overtaking her as she watched Lani glare at Dick's backside.

"Is she always this talkative?" She asked as the two teenagers who still sat at the back shook their heads.

"Mostly." Rachel answered. They took off their seat belts and waited outside for Dick to come out with the keys to their rooms.

Dick walked out with the room keys as he looked at Lani who had her face scrunched up in disgust. She looked him up and down as if he was the one who did something and chills went up her spine as he moved closer.

"What?" He asked, handing her a room key as she nodded back at the door with the name 'reception' at the top.

"She just asked you for sex." Lani shuddered in disgust before walking off towards her room and Dick looked towards Rachel and Gar who shrugged.
