The Asylum

"I need to talk to him. Alone." Rachel began, leaning over the table. Lani was situated beside Kory while Gar was leaned on the bench behind Rachel. Dick walked in, shaking his head.

"I don't think that's a good idea." Dick immediately refused, hearing her suggestion and Rachel shrugged her shoulders, a little attitude in it.

"Why? 'Cause I can't take care of myself?" Rachel started and Lani made a face while snacking. Rachel wasn't thinking properly and it was clear to her. 

"That's not the point." Dick said as he paced back and forth.

"I need to find out who he is! Why he's chasing me." Rachel tried again. Lani didn't doubt that she was going to back down soon as Dick stopped in front of her.

"I don't trust him." Dick said simply as Lani's eyebrows scrunched in confusion.

"Isn't he cuffed?" Lani questioned. Dick glared at her and Rachel pointed her palm at her, as an example.

"Exactly. One word from Rachel and I'll put my foot through his face." Lani cleared her throat and Kory rolled her eyes. "We'll put our foot and claws through his face." She corrected herself and Lani smiled in content and Gar shook his head at Lani's actions.

"Dick, please." Rachel begged and Dick looked to be thinking about it for a minute. Rachel lifted her eyebrows, awaiting for his answer. Everyone anticipated his answer.

"Five minutes." Dick finalized and Rachel stifled a smile, glancing at Kory and Lani who winked at her. She burst into a smile, knowing the girls had her back on this one. 

"Thank you." She said to Dick before disappearing towards the bathroom. Once she wasn't seen, Lani immediately stood up, as did Kory.

"Where are you two going?" Dick asked, pointing at the two girls and Lani smiled.

"Don't worry. We're just going to be behind the door. Just in case she screams." Lani shrugged as if it was obvious before walking off, Kory following, smirking. Dick sighed out, not bothering to argue with them. He gave up trying to tell them what to do.

Lani was laid on the long black couch, her legs dangling off the side of it. Gar was a little ways ahead of her on the other side of the couch, manspreading and staring outside the glass windows. Rachel was beside him, cross legged and thinking deeply. 

"Where did Jason go? Has anyone seen him lately?" Lani asked, making Rachel and Gar look at her with a mischievous look. She looked up, looking at them upside down and pointed accusingly at the two. 

"Don't get any ideas. I'm just curious." Lani eyed them down. Rachel shrugged looking back in front of her and Gar just shook his head lowly.

"Curiosity killed that cat." He quoted randomly. Lani looked confused, sending Gar a weird look and Gar mirrored her expression, mocking her. 

"I'm a dog...not a cat. You're the cat." Lani pointed at Gar, clueless and he rolled his eyes in response. Dick and Kory walked in, gaining everyone's attention.

Dick sat down quietly as Kory stayed standing behind Dick. His eyes were only focused on Rachel. "He says your birth mother is still alive." Dick said, dropping a bomb. Lani picked up the packet of chips beside her head, behind Dick who was sitting right beside her head. 

Rachel shook her head, glancing at the ground as she tried to gain her train of thought. "What?" She asked softly. Lani made a loud crunch with her Doritos, making everyone glare at her for distracting them.  Rachel was still trying to grasp what he said. Lani smiling innocently before putting the packet down and sitting up on the couch properly.
