Anathi walked around the lingerie store looking for something to wear for their anniversary weekend away which also happened to coincide with Valentine. It was her husband's genius idea to get married a day afyervalentinr after he had proposed to her a year before on Valentine's day. A week had passed and she was still yet to know what happened between him and his mother. She knew he would eventually tell her, hence she was not pestering him about it.' You know none of the items in this store will fit your fat ass. You should be in those fat girl stores.'
Anathi lifted her head up from checking a one piece she liked and found her beautiful but ugly cousin standing behind her. Her hands itched to grab her by her weave and throw her across the room but she was not about to ruin her reputation.
' Jealousy makes you nasty Lala.'
' I am not jealous of you. You have nothing that I want that I can't get.'
' You want my life and that you will never ever get.'
' Don't be so sure about that. I already have his son and after our meeting a week ago, I know for sure he's willing to do anything for us.'
She did not know that her cousin was back let alone meeting with her husband.
' See what I mean, you are delusional. This dream you have of being misses Jabari will never ever come true. So now if you'll excuse me I have a baecation to get ready for with my husband.'
Anathi walked away very angry with Lala spewing profanities at her in public much to the other customer's shock. She did not care for Lala but was angered by the fact that Jabari was out here having meetings with her and not informing her.
'Hey babe how was your shopping?'
' Great till I bumped into your ex girlfriend.'
' Babe I've had plenty. Who are you talking about?'
It was meant to be a joke but nothing was funny to her at this point.
' Why did you not tell me Lala was in town? Or that you were having secret meetings with her?'
' I did not have secret meetings with that woman. She came by to the office a week ago while my dad was there. I left her in my office and came to see you. When I got back she was gone'
' Why did you not tell me?'
' Nathi dealing with my mom's bullshit, I did not have time to think or even remember she existed. Now can we stop talking about her and show me what you got for the weekend away.'
She smiled at him as he pulled her by her waist and momentarily forgot about her messed up day and that she was mad.
' Nah fam! What are you going to do about this baby she is adamant is yours?'
She pushed his face away when he tried to kiss her and caused him to sigh out of frustration.
' Anathi I told you that that child ain't mine. I know I used protection. I was sober and level headed. That child is not mine and I refuse to entertain this subject any further.'
Anathi walked out of his office angry after demanding a paternity test.
