"ugh" i groaned as i shut off my alarm. 6:20 it read. today was the first table read for high school musical: the musical: the series. dang that's a tongue twister. i put on some gray sweatpants and a white t-shirt and walked out the door. as i started my car i got a text.

i pulled up to cianna's house and shot her a quick text letting her know i was here. soon the car door opened and i turned to face cianna. "hey thanks for picking me up." she said, smiling. "it's no problem." i said. i turned on the radio and 'hold me by the heart' by kehlani started playing. i heard humming coming from cianna. humming that soon turned into singing. "hold me by the heart, tell me i'll be whole again." she sang. "hold me by the heart, tell me it will never end. cause i begun to think that, i was nothing short of broken. so baby hold me by the heart. help me fly again." her voice sounded so angelic. hearing her singing relaxed my entire body. we stopped at a red light and i looked over at her. she looked back at me, "s-sorry" she stuttered. "my singing was bad i know." "no it wasn't" i reassured her. "it was beautiful, cianna." she looked away from me and started blushing like crazy. "thanks.." she said quietly. i smiled and looked back at the road, the light turning green.

we walked into the room we were supposed to be having our table read in. "hola mi amor!" frankie said as he came up to hug me. "you're my favorite frankie" i laughed. "everyone find their name plate and have a seat!" the producer, greg said. i found mine, mackenzie wood and sat down. i looked up and saw joshua sit down right across from me. i sighed and got settled.
we're halfway through the table read and let's just say i may have been stealing glances at josh the entire time...some of which he returned. "ricky walks out of the cafeteria" greg said, blocking the script. "ricky bumps into mackenzie." oh so this is where my character is introduced. "oh shoot i'm so sorry" ricky- i mean joshua said. "it's fine, i'm fine." i said, getting into character as best as i could. "ok..are you new here? i don't remember seeing you last year" "yeah i am." i sighed. "well i'm ricky, ricky bowen" "mackenzie, mackenzie wood." i said. "the two shake hands" greg says. i look up at josh, admiring his features. he looks back at me and i immediately look away, feeling butterflies in my stomach.

i sighed and clicked accept. i saw josh's face pop into the screen. "hey cianna" he said carefully. "hi" i said a little too harshly. i could see he was taken back by it and i immediately felt bad. "i'm sorry that sounded rude..." i said softly. "no it's okay, i just wanted to check on you after the comments those trolls left on your post. are you okay?" he asked. "it's fine, i mean it's not like they lied." i said mumbling the last part. "don't say that cianna" he said sternly. "what?" "don't say that about yourself. you're not any of those things that they said. you're beautiful cianna" he finished. i just stayed silent and looked down, not believing anything he said. "cianna?" he said. "i have to go josh" i lied. "wait"
