SHOULD SHE, OR SHOULD SHE NOT? Should she, or not? Should, or should not?

Monty stood in front of her mirror. She was clueless if she should tie a knot at the bottom of her light blue blouse, or if she should just tuck it into the jeans she had once borrowed from Steve, and then had them tailored, so they'd fit her better. Steve was rather slim, but his jeans did look a bit masculine on Monty, and the waistband was too wide. So, she had them fixed.

She tied the knot, then untied it, then tied it again, then untied it again, until she decided that it looked way better tied.

She quickly styled her hair in a half-bun before she grabbed her keys and jogged downstairs. Letting the door shut behind her, she went up to the mailbox. On both sides it read Montgomery, which Monty had designed when she was ten years old. She had drawn cute little daisies on it.

She opened the mailbox and looked inside, and when there was no mail, she turned around, ready to get inside again. Yes, Monty got all dressed up for checking the mailbox, because, what if she saw the man of her dreams on her front porch while she went and checked the mail?

Monty heard a car stop next to the sidewalk. She looked over her shoulder and recognized it as Steve's car. She saw him get outside of it, a bouquet of flowers in his hands, and quietly mumbling something.

He looked over to the Wheeler's house, and Monty was about to call his name when a kid, and Monty was sure he was half of Steve's size, walked up to him. "Steve," he said.

"Are those for Mr. or Mrs. Wheeler?" The kid asked.

Monty put the keys that were in her hands, in the back pocket of her jeans and slowly started walking up to them. She was curious about the situation, as to why Steve had flowers in his hands and why this kid was talking to him.

          "No," Steve said.

"Good," the kid said and grabbed the flowers from Steve.

           "Hey. What the hell? Hey!"

"Nancy isn't home," Monty heard the kid say and her stomach sank a bit. Of fucking course.

"They're not... They're for– Wait, where is she?" Steve stuttered.

Monty caught up to them now. "Hey," she greeted Steve when she approached him. She smiled at him, and he smiled back, though she could see the confusion in his face caused by the kid.
