                                                                                     Chapter 43

                                                                              Friends Altogether

The guys carried the luggage upstairs following Charlie and Katie, Annie and the girls behind them.  "Hey Katie," Beth called loudly, "I'm surprised that the florist would deliver the flowers two days before the wedding.  Won't they wilt before the big event?"  Katie laughed.  "The Flowers you saw down stairs are made of silk.  The live flowers won't arrive until the day of.  They will be placed in the room where the ceremony will take place early in the morning.  After we take your luggage to your rooms I'll show where that place is."

"Hey,"  Annie almost shouted, "Weren't Bobby, Daphne And Johnny supposed to arrive today?"  "Yeah," Charlie said, "I forgot to tell you guys; there was some problem with their plane tickets, so they are arriving tomorrow at nine am.  Mr. Cohan is going to meet them at the airport before he takes us to get fitted for our tuxes.  But first he's going to drop Daphne off here."

"Well, gee Charlie, how could you forget to tell us that?"  Jamie asked him with a smirk on his face.  "I have had quite a bit of stuff on my mind."  Everyone laughed and Jamie threw an arm around Charlie's neck and ruffled his hair.  "Just kidding," Jamie told him.

Katie continued to lead the group down the end of a long hallway and then she suddenly stopped in her tracks.  "Okay.  This is your room," she told Len and Annie, pointing to the first of six doors.  Len opened the door and he and Annie both let out a gasp as they walked in.  Katie giggled.  My Mom believes in going all out," Katie said in explanation as what they saw.

The walls were light beige; the drapes and carpet were a deep burgundy with gold medalions weaved into the pile and the fabric.  The bedspread and pillows were down filled and covered in gold silk fabric.  A wardrobe made of oak stood against a side wall with a silk floral arrangement a top of it.  On the other side wall stood a small entertainment center, complete with a flat screen TV, a game system and several games to go with it.  Another floral arrangement sat on a night stand next to the king size bed along with an alarm clock.

As the others would find that their rooms looked very much the same, only in different color schemes.  Katie next showed Beth and Eric to their room and then Trish and Zack to theirs.  Then she stopped again.  "Okay.  That takes care of the married couples.  Patti.  I paired you, Daphne and I up together, if that's okay,"  she asked.  "Sure," Patti replied, peeking into their room, her blue eyes wide and her mouth gaping at the beauty of it.  Katie giggled and then walked on a few feet.

"Jamie.  I thought you Charlie,  Johnny and Bobby when they get here, could room together.  There is a set of bunk beds in this room,"  She said waving a hand at the door.  "Sure.  Just like old times," Jamie said, with an arm around Charlie's neck.  "Yep.  And you get one of the upper bunks,"  Charlie said with a chuckle.  Katie rolled her eyes at them and then moved on.  "And Dee and Cela, I thought you two would like this room," Katie said, opening the last door.  Again, there is a bunk bed in this room."  "Wow!" Cela gasped out as she and Dee looked into the room.  "This is cool!  Dee said in an awed voice.

Then everyone hurriedly put their luggage in their rooms and Katie pointed out where the four bathrooms were on the second floor and then the group followed her back down the stairs.  She led them through the living room into the massive airy kitchen.  The group look out onto the back deck and then to the rolling foot hills miles away.  "Beautiful View,"  Len said.
