ANASTASIA looked in the small mirror her locker, her eyes trailing up and down the new bumps and curves that filled her baby pink t-shirt, the words "baby phat" in the front and light washed, low rise jeans.
A lot of things changed during the summer. Topanga went on a trip somewhere exotic with her parents, Nova got her cartilage pierced, without the knowledge of her parents, Anastasia, Ana for short, blossomed into a woman, and Shawn & Cory, well, they were Shawn and Cory. Usually, the five of them would hang out during summer break, getting into all different kinds of trouble, but something was different about this summer.
She hummed softly as she eyed herself again before grabbing her books, shoving them in her bag, and closing her locker. She walked down the halls of John Adams High, a determined look on her face. Not only did her body go through changes, but so did Ana's attitude and outlook on life. She decided that this year was going to be her year. Her year for fun, friends, and...love. She was basically a woman now! A confident smile lit up her face as she held her head high. This year was going to be different.
"Ana!"
She turned around, seeing one of her best friends, Nova, running down the hall in her infamous dark denim blue mom jeans. She opened up her arms, welcoming her friend with a big hug. "Wait a minute," Nova started, slowly pulling away from the hug. She looked down at her friends chest, letting out a gasp. "You got boobs!" She exclaimed, pointing at her chest.
Ana looked around at the other people in the hallway giving the pair weird looks, a sheepish smile on her face as she slapped her friend's hand away. "I know and now the rest of the school knows." She said sarcastically.
"Well, of course they're gonna know when you're wearing that shirt." Nova teased, poking at her friend's chest. Ana let out a small giggle, batting her friend's hand away again. The two girls walked down the hallway, catching up on the events that happened over the summer. "So, let me see that marvelous cartilage piercing that got you grounded for the whole summer." She brought up, smiling at her friend.
Nova nodded her head excitedly as she stopped in the middle of the hallway, pushing her hair behind her ears. She cleared her throat, a proud smile on her face. "I present to you...the masterpiece!" She effused dramatically as she showed off her ears, striking a pose.
Ana let out a small laugh as looked at her friend's ears. Sure enough, along with sunflower earrings that occupied her ears, there were two new holes, both with small diamond earrings in them. "Wow, how classy." She commented, giving her friend a small nudge.
Nova flipped her hair and striked another pose. "Why thank you." She prattled in a posh accent. The pair laughed as they continued to walk down the hall. "So, what made you do it?" Ana questioned. "Was it really worth being grounded for?" Nova tapped her chin, thinking for a minute. "Well, Andrew Wakowski said that girls with cartilage piercings are hot, so I got one. Now, I'm technically hot in the eyes of Andrew Wakowski." The girl explained.
