"WHAT are Cory and Shawn doing?" Nova asked, leaning against the locker next to Anastasia's. The brown skinned girl and sighed, shutting her locker shut, glancing over at the two idiots. "Veronica Watson." She stated, holding her books up to her chest. "Her and her boyfriend are going through a very public and dramatic breakup and Shawn is just waiting, ready to pounce at her like half of the boys in grade 8."

She rolled her eyes, her bottom lip jutting out. "I don't see what's the big deal." Nova shrugged looking over at the two boys. "I mean girls break up with their boyfriends all the time in this school." Ana nodded and looked at her. "Yeah, but not every girl is Veronica Watson. She's the only girl in grade 8 who has upperclassmen girls jealous of her and the boys after her. Not to mention her style is impeccable. She practically brought back tie-dye from the dead. She practically an icon." She raved on.

"Well, tie-dye should remain dead. It's very unflattering and washes out my complexion." Nova said with a small laugh. Ana giggled and her shook her head. She looked over at Shawn as he walked over to Veronica. Her smile faltered slightly as she bit down on her bottom lip. "Why don't you just tell him how you feel?" Nova questioned.

"Because if I do and he doesn't feel the same way, it could ruin years of friendship." She pointed out. "And that's too precious to me for it to be ruined over stupid hormonal feelings." Nova nodded and patted her back gently. "Want to hear about how the date between me and Andrew Wakowski went?" She asked, trying to change the subject.

Ana nodded and perked up. "Do I want to hear about your date with one of the hottest guys in 8th grade? Um, duh!" She giggled. Nova smiled and leaned her head against the lockers, staring off dreamily. "Well, he picked me up at like 7 and took me to this really nice diner. Imagine Chubbie's but if they actually cleaned everyday and sprayed perfume to cover up that grease smell." She started.

"Wow, that's real fancy." Ana commented. Nova nodded and hummed. "After eating, he paid for his and my meal. How romantic is that? Most guys around here won't even pay for a girl to get a stick of gum. And then, while we were walking home, he grabbed my hand. And Ana, his hands were so soft yet so...manly. Gosh, he's so sweet. And now, for the best part. Once we got to my door, he told me how beautiful I looked tonight and that he had an amazing time with me and he placed the sweetest and gentlest kiss on my forehead. Ugh, I'm gonna marry that man one day!" She gushed.

Ana was genuinely happy for her friend. Nova was an amazing girl and deserves someone who saw that and told her everyday how precious she was. She couldn't help but feel a little jealous though. She wanted someone to care for her and want to do nice things for her too. She smiled at her friend and let out a small laugh. "Me and Pangers better be your maid of honors at your wedding." She teased.
