*Lisa's POV*

"Yukina!" I called out to her as I saw her in the hallway.

"Lisa," she turned around to me. "Good morning."

I gave her a great big hug. "It's going great so far! But just one thing."

"What is it?"

"I won't be at band practice today. But I can practice on my own."

Yukina was surprised. "Why are you not coming today?"

"One of my friends needs some company, is all. I need to help the best I can."

"All right. We'll just cancel all practice today and do it all at home ourselves," she said.

"Huh? No! Future World Fes is too close. You guys can't afford to skip days," I replied.

"We need you at practice. We do noticeably worse without you. I've seen it before a while ago..."

That's right, that did happen. Even for a day, leaving them makes everyone perform worse.

Yukina and I walked to class together.

After classes finally ended, I said goodbye to her and caught up with (Y/N).

"Hey!" I told him. "Let's head to my home."

"Sure," he replied. "Let's go."

My house isn't too far of a walk from school. I live next door to Yukina. I'm so used to walking home with her, whether she's happy or sad.

We arrived at my house, and I let him in.

"I'll get right to work on those cookies! Just sit tight!"

I walked off to the kitchen.

*(Y/N)'s POV*

Lisa is acting so nice to me.
She's so caring, it's melting my heart.
I don't know what that means, but I want to tell her.
No, actually, I can't. I'll mess this up.
But if I don't say it, I'll be indecisive and it'll eat away at me.

I spent a while thinking like that until Lisa's voice broke my thoughts.

"Come sit in the kitchen! Let's not dirty up the sofa."

In the kitchen, she was bouncing around everywhere, hard at work.
I took a seat at the dining table and found myself staring at her again.

Dang it, there I go again.

"They're already done!" She sang out. "Fast, huh?"

She placed a tray of chocolate-chip cookies in front of me.
They smelled delicious. When was the last time I didn't eat something from the convenience store...?

I took a bite out of one, and it tasted like heaven.

Lisa smiled.
"Looks like you like it. I'm glad!"

Now she watched me eat the cookies, and every time I glanced at het, she smiled.
After a bit, she got up.

"Can you excuse me a sec? I have to work on my bass now."

"Sure," I said.

She went to her room, and came out a little bit later with a red bass guitar.
She sat on the living room sofa and began playing some songs.

"Sunkissed Rhodonite," I heard her say to herself.

My heart is beating fast.
When I look at her, what could it be?

"Lisa," I said.

She looked up at me. "Yes?"

"I... I think I have something to say."

"What is it? I'd like to hear it."

"I think... I love you, Lisa."

The room became quiet.
All I could hear was my heartbeat and I could probably even hear hers.

After a short while, tears began to roll down her face.
She began to cry.

She covered her tear-filled face.

"What did I do...?" I thought. "I ruined it. I ruined all of this."

I walked to the sofa to try to calm her down.

"Could you... Please go home? I'm sorry."

As she requested, I left home and shut the door behind me.

*Lisa's POV*

What is happening to me?
Why did I cry like that?
He just confessed to me, and all I could do was kick him out.

It just... came so suddenly.

Do I feel the same way about him?
I really just met him for the first time yesterday.

I picked up my phone and called Yukina. I need someone to help me. This isn't the usual. Usually, I can handle it myself, but this isn't one of those cases.

"Hello? Lisa?" Yukina said. "You called?"

I held my phone in my hand, but nothing could come out. I couldn't talk.

"Nothing. Sorry. I'll see you at school tomorrow!" I tried to say in my happiest voice, through the tears.

"Are you okay, Lisa?" Yukina asked.

"Sure. Just tired from practicing bass."

*Yukina's POV*

Something is definitely wrong with Lisa.
Was it something to do with her friend?
I need to see her.

I rushed next door and knocked on her door.
"Lisa? Can we talk?"

She opened the door and she quietly let me in, differing from her usual method of being overly excited to see me.

This isn't her usual at all...
I will try to help her all I can.

I cannot allow Lisa to be upset.
