After getting through the night without any interruptions my levels of stress only shimmered away inch by inch. I'd woken in Max's arms yet again it was very comforting in a matter like this. But the thought of Vex still out there made me so scared and worried.Vex clearly has more power then me considering I didn't have Any at all! But what I was beginning to dread was what if Vex brung back up?
That would be very, very bad.
"Stop, worrying your pretty little head."
Slightly jumping I looked up at Max and sighed.
"I'm not worrying."
Max shook his head and chuckled.
"You have this look on your face like your completely lost in only your thoughts."
I laughed lightly and sat up cracking my back.
"I told you I'll protect you."
Max got up and led me to the bathroom and turned on the steaming shower spray.
"Get in the shower and I'll bring our clothes in."
I took my clothes off and looked at Max.
"Will you be joining me?"
Max smiles gently and helped me tug his long shirt over my head.
"Yeah."
Max left the bathroom and I stepped into the shower washing up slowly and thinking deeply.
Time must have flown Because soon enough I felt Max slide into the shower behind me and hold my waist as the water sprayed over us.
Gently Max lathered a sponge with soap and washed my body with the fruity scent.
No words needed to be said as we stared into each others eyes and that alone spoke volumes.
Maybe this human will protect me and save my life.
But would that stop the higher ups from setting a bounty on my head?

It was hours later into the Day I wore one of my new outfits that fit snug and laid on the couch with Max with what the humans call popcorn. Max carried the gun around everywhere we went around the house as if prepared for a fight. I wasn't complaining it somehow made me feel safe knowing Max would be ready when the time came.
"Maybe Vex isn't making a move because it's broad daylight and he can't risk anybody seeing him?"
Max looked at me.
I shrugged, it could be a possibility.
"How well do you know this Vex?"
Max asked while rubbing his hand on the back of my neck.
"I don't know him at all!"
Max nodded his head and sat the bowl of popcorn down on the table.
"I have an alarm set so if he tries to sneak in it'll go off and we'll know he's in."
I nodded my head not really paying any attention as I thought harder on a good hiding place for the book.
It needed to be in a good secure place. Where not a soul would look.
I couldn't risk telling Max Incase he was forced into telling where it was.
"Gabe are you listening?"
With a short, Mhm, Max continues on.
This was so bad, having to fret over our lives and weather we'd live the next day. It had my stomach in straight tangled knots that I couldn't seem to detangle.
"Gabe please tell me what to do to take your mind off of this for a minute."
There's nothing.
"I don't know."
Max laid his head on my stomach and groaned as if drained.
"How about a little nap?"
I pursed my lips and sighed.
There wasn't much to do anyway.
I held the book right against me and laid down in Max's arms. After a long ass day of fretting and checking every window once in awhile for any sights of a ambush I'd been tired, trying to think of places to hide a very important book from very dangerous people.
This really wasn't my forte.
I wasn't sure what was but I knew fighting wasn't.
