"Ugh...".
I groan as I lazily throw my arm to my bedside table, quickly shutting off my stupid alarm clock. I roll over to see the time, as the sun streaming from my window proceeds to blind me, making me squint. 7:00 a.m. Ew. I roll back over, covering my face with my pillow to try and avoid the bright sun.
"5 more minutes...".
As if on cue, my mom knocks on my door and opens it to see I'm still laying in bed.
"Come on, (y/n). I know you don't want to but you gotta get up. It's the first day of school of your senior year!"
I sigh at her excitement. "I know mom. I'm getting up."
I throw the blanket to the side and sit up on my bed, legs hanging off the side. I yawn and stretch and jump off the bed. I go to my mirror and am immediately greeted by what I can only assume is some kind of monster...oh wait, it's me.
"Heh."
I laugh at my tired appearance as I grab by brush. After I brush out my (h/l) (h/c) locks I walk over to my closet and pick out an outfit. It's senior year. By now if I haven't made some kind of impression on the people at this school, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I promptly pick an outfit that shows a bit of my personality but also works for the school environment.
Once I'm dressed, I make my way downstairs to the kitchen to eat breakfast. I walk over to the cabinet and pull out my favorite cereal, then to the fridge for milk, then of course to the cabinet for a bowl, glass, and spoon. I prepare my breakfast and start eating.
"Ah yes, a meal fit for a queen."
As I'm eating, I grab my phone from my pocket and check the time. 7:45 a.m. I still got some time to chill. I take out my headphones and connect them. I need something that'll put me in a good mood for the day, hmm...Oh! I scroll through my playlist and find the perfect song.
As I listen, I start to move to the beat, cereal still in hand. I finish up, still listening to the song and dance as I clean up my food. I put everything back in its place and start walking toward the front door.
I grab my backpack, sling it over my shoulder and call back to my mom, "Mom! I gotta go!" She comes down the stairs and walks up to me to give me a hug.
"Have a great day sweetie. Can't wait to hear all about it when you come home." She smiles at me and I smile back.
"Of course mom. Love you!" I open the door and jog out to my car that's parked in the front of the house. I'm not usually gifted with extravagant gifts, but a car was one of the very few I received and I was very appreciative of it.
