Chapter 15

Jason's P.O.V

I wonder what is wrong with Lauren she hasn't done anything all day, she's just been sitting there with no emotion on her face.

I think she broke, she won't tell me her dream she just sits there, it's all my fault, if I hadn't kissed her she wouldn't be like this right now, I'm so stupid.

Should I talk to her? Ask her what's wrong? Tell her I'm sorry?

As I was about to say something I heard Duce barking, he never barks, I look over to Lauren to see her quickly standing up and sprinting towards the noise.

When Lauren got there she instantly stopped so quickly I almost ran into her.

There on the ground lay dying deer, I didn't know why she was so upset we hunt deer almost every day.

She fell to her knees, and rapped her arms around the dying deer.

"Darren, it will be okay." She cried.

Those five words hit me hard, I look to the deers alters, and there it was, a pink ribbon tied around it.

"Oh my..." I couldn't control what came out of my mouth next.

"I'll go back to get things from my bag I might have something to help him."

She turned to face me.

"You would do that?"

"You saved your life for this deer, now it's my turn."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

I ran back to the cave and get my backpack, I start pulling everything out looking for something that would help.

"No, no, no, no."

Just then I pull out a needle and some thick thread.

"Oh thank goodness."

I run with the needle and thread and when I get there, she's still hugging the deer.

"Move."

She moves out of the way and I get on my knees and put the thread through the hole at the top of the needle.

I pull the pulled apart skin closely together and I start to sow the skin back together.

I hope this is the only problem, and that it doesn't have internal bleeding.

When I'm finished I look at Duce like I was about to hurt him, even though I could never do so.

"Duce bad dog!" Duce looked down as I said that.

"No it wasn't Duce." Lauren says abruptly.

"Then what was it?"

She puts her arm up to the now sealed wound, her arm had a huge scare on it from when the wolf bit her.

"A wolf did, look at the resemblance to the bite on my arm to the bite on Darren. It was a wolf."

"Wow."

"Ya."

****************Dawn***************

The sun was setting a Darren still wasn't showing any signs of getting better, Lauren won't leave him, and to be honest she's scarring me.

"Lauren, it's getting cold, we should build a fire."

"Okay, you do that, I'm going to stay here."

"Look, Lauren, you need to do something. How about you build the fire, and I'll look after Darren, okay."

She shot me a death glare before sighing.

"Fine, whatever."
