Chapter 16: Winter Time

Lauren's P.O.V

I wake up chills run down my body, why is it so cold?

I look outside to see white fluffy flakes of snow falling from the sky, the ground was already covered, at least half a foot, Jason was still asleep, but I could tell he was cold.

I quickly stand up giving my blanket to a sleeping Jason.

After I give him my blanket, I put on my sweater and jacket.

I walk into another part of the cave and see Darren, he hasn't been doing to well for the past week or so, he's barely eating, and he just lies there, like he's paralyzed.

It frightens me, thinking he might die, I don't want him to die, I only saw his family once after the wolf had attacked him.

I stared at him for a minute, then he looked back at me, he looked pained, hurt filled his eyes, it made me want to cry seeing him like this.

I stepped out of his area and went outside, the snow was so nice, and made it peaceful.

I let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding.

I heard a sound come from inside the cave, probably Jason getting up.

I started walking where the snow got deeper, then I turned around and fell into the snow.

It was nice and cold on my skin but I didn't care, It felt nice.

I wish I could just stay here forever...

That's until I heard Jason talking to himself, he sounded panicked.

Jason's P.O.V

I wake up to Duce whimpering, that's weird he almost never does that.

I get up and follow the sound of him.

When I get there, what I see is not what I expected to see.

There lay the dead deer, the deer that we have taken care of that past what fells like month, there lay Darren.

"Oh my God!" I said panicked.

"What am I going to do, what am I going to say to Lauren?"

"Oh my God Lauren, I didn't think about her, she's not in a good mental state to be dealing with this." I think aloud.

I hear someone walk in, oh no.

I turn around to see Lauren.

"Jason what's wr......." She stopped mid sentence when she saw Darren.

"Is, is he...... gone." Lauren asked.

"Umm, ya, I'm, I'm sorry."

I could see a tear run down her face.

"No, I'm, umm, I'm... okay." She said another tear rolls down her face.

"No, no your not." I say.

"Jason, if you know what's good for you, you'll shut up."

"Lauren your not okay." I say ignoring what she had just said.

"I SAID SHUT THE FÜCK UP!" She screams.

That took me back, she never swears.

"Calm down."

Her head snapped up at me so quick I thought she was possessed.

"Calm down? CALM DOWN, WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN?"

......Fuck

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say calm down."

"Whatever, just please.. leave me alone right now."

She walked towards Darren, one by one I saw all the dogs coming here, all sitting next to Lauren as she started to cry.

I go outside to get some air when I saw two deer walk into the cave, they just go right pass me, like I wasn't even standing there.

I follow them as they walked to Darren's now dead body.

Right as they see him they both put there heads down as if they were upset.

That's when it had hit me, they were is family, his wife, and his daughter, they came here probably knowing he was about to pass.

A/N R.I.P Darren, sorry guys I had to, it wouldn't be realistic if he lived.
Sorry for the late post also.

Reasons...
I was sick.
