Val and Jenna: A love story

The Big Day

Haileys POV:
I was so excited I could barely sit still for breakfast. "I can't believe that I'm going to be on live tv" I said happily. Mom smiled at my me and said "You deserve it". "Go get your backpack and water and a snack you can have" said Mom. When I went up to my bedroom I had bought my mom this really beautiful necklace and I couldn't find it. "Mom did you take a necklace from my room" I yelled. "I found one on the floor, I put it on your dresser so Ziggy wouldn't get a hold of it" she said. "Ok thank you" I said. Once we got to the studio all us kids were bouncing off the walls with excitement. "Ok everyone let's run the opening number than run the dances in order once without costumes and then with costumes ok" said one of the stage managers. I was super excited because this was the first time I got to put my costume on and I knew it was purple and purple is one of my favorite colors. "Hey Mom come here for a sec" I said taking out the necklace. "Mom since you have devoted so much time to me, I wanted to get you a little something" I said giving her the necklace. "Oh my god Hailey is this why you saved your birthday and Christmas money" she asked. "Yeah, Papa chipped in to" I said to her. "Come here Hails" she said giving me a hug. "I love it, I'm gonna put it on right now" she said.
Vals POV:
     While I watched Hailey give Jenna the necklace it made me smile. But then my smile turned to a bit of fear when I then realized I was a judge! How could I give my own daughter a score on her dancing? "Hey Babe, do you think I should wear... what's wrong? said Jenna. "How am I supposed to score my own daughters dancing" I said. "Listen Val, she won't be made at you if you don't give her a perfect ten she won't care, she knows how a competition works and that you need to judge fairly" said Jenna. Jenna was right, but I still didn't think that I should be judging my own daughter and wife, no matter how good or bad the dance is of course I would want to give my Hailey Bug  a perfect 10. "Hey Adam, I have a question for you" I asked him. "Yes, what can I do for you Val" said Adam. "Well you know how Hailey is my daughter and Jenna is my pregnant wife" I said to him. "Yeah of course I do, Jenna was my partner for the athletes season, but she couldn't finish it off cause she was pregnant with Hailey" he said. I thought to myself damn that was so long ago. "Well I just don't think that I would be able to Judge them fairly, so could you do me a favor and judge them for me" I asked.  He sat in silence and I was worried that he would say no. "Of course Val, don't worry about it" He said. "Thank you so much Adam" I said to him.
