Beth POV

I cut her off and spray her in face with silly string, she opens a can and I start booking it down the aisle.

This is chaotic,

I love it.

She cuts me off, and sprays me, I grab a can and spray her back before she could run.

We run through the store like 5 year olds on a sugar high.

I stop at the costume section and look at the wall of costumes, I smirk and head to the back.

I look for the number of the costume I wanted.

I find it and put it on.

I walk and find Sophie..

IN A MINECRAFT STEVE COSTUME.

I had inflated and put on a dinosaur costume.

We continued to run through the store in our new, ridiculous costumes.

Sophie motions me over to her.

"What?" I ask

She smirks.

"Creeper." She picks up a plush creeper.

"AAAAWWWWW MAAAN" I respond.

We both bust out laughing.

I look out the window, it's getting dark.

We do not wanna be in a store in the dark, considering this place doesn't even have working doors.

"It's getting dark, maybe we should look for a place to stay the night." I suggest.

She nods.

We take off our costumes, and lay them on the floor and we head back outside.

It's so dark, I can't see anything.

I hear Sophie reaching into her bag, she pulls out a flashlight,

Convenient.

She turns it on and shines it ahead of us.

"Let's get going before we attract attention." She says.

I nod.

We start walking down the sidewalk of the city looking for apartments, houses, anything really.

We stumble upon and old hotel.

We slowly and cautiously walk inside.

Both gripping our weapons tightly.

Once we checked to make sure everything was clear, we went behind the desk grabbing keycards for rooms.

We went to one of the rooms and shut and locked the door.

I dropped my backpack on the floor and flopped onto the bed.

I see Sophie put her stuff down on the chair and flop onto the other bed.

I yawn, causing her to yawn too.

"Let's just get some sleep." She says.

"Yeah let's, goodnight." I say

"Night." She says back.

And we both drift off to sleep.

𝘈𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨.

I wake up randomly.

I have no idea why I woke up but, I don't know what time it is.

It's still dark out so I can only assume it's really early.

I rub my eyes.

I slowly put my feet on the floor, I stand and look over to where Sophie was sleeping.

She's not there.

Okay, now I'm curious.

I walk over to my bag and I grab my bat and a keycard and head out the door.

I walk slowly down the hall and I start to ear faint clinking noises.

They sounded like they were coming from the dining area, which is just around the corner considering we chose a room on the first floor to avoid having too much trouble to get out if zombies were to get in.

I walk closer to the dining area and I peek around the corner and find a light switch.

I turn it on and I start raising my bat.

To my surprise, there was Sophie, sitting on the counter eating a mini cereal packet that hotels put out for breakfast.

"Oh, hi." She says.

"What the heck are you doing up this early?" I ask.

"I got hungry." She says, continuing to eat the cereal.

I facepalm.

"Alright then." I say.

She chews on the cereal then swallows it.

"Do you want one?" She asks.

I smile.

"Yeah." I say

She hands me a pack of froot loops.

I take the pack of froot loops and grab a plastic spoon that was sitting in a cup on the counter.

I hoist myself onto the counter next to Sophie.

So here we are, sitting on a hotel breakfast bar at two in the morning, eating dry froot loops, cause all the milk has gone bad by now.
I smile.

I think I could get used to this.
