𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆.

"I'm so tired.." I mumble to myself.

Everything is aching, I'm tired, hungry and thirsty.

I just need to go for thirty more minutes and I'll be there.

I slowly keep walking, every step making my body ache more.

How I wanted to sleep so bad.

I finally arrived to the city, only to be shocked that it already looked completely abandoned and deserted.

No matter how confused I was, I still walked into the city, slowly and cautiously though.

I hear a faint noise behind me, thinking nothing of it, I was so tired to the point everything felt like a daydream, like nothing could hurt me.

I should've snapped out of it sooner.

I hear the same, ear piercing scream as the last, only this time I didn't have my bat ready, I had previously put it in my bag about halfway through the walk here. This corpse was a lot faster than the last.

I try my best to get my bat as quickly as possible, only for it to get stuck on something in my bag, I start panicking, preparing for my defeat, I close my eyes and wait for the bite, waiting to be taken to the ground and eaten, only it never came.

Instead I hear a slicing sound, when I open my eyes, I see a female, a bit taller than me, standing there as she had just sliced the zombie that was about to end my life, in half.

She looks at me.

"You good bro?" She asks.

Heart racing and adrenaline pumping I manage to choke out,
"Yeah, I think so."

She gives me a short, tired smile.

"Good." She says

We stand there in silence until,

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Sophie, yours?" She says.

"Elizabeth, but call me Beth." I say

She smiles.

"Alright Beth, would you like to be my partner in crime?" She asks.

I laugh slightly.

"Absolutely." I say.

We stare at each other for a second before we hear more groaning from the zombies coming towards us.

I finally get my bat out of my bag, gripping it tightly in my hands.

Sophie is gripping her katana in her hands as well.

Let's do this.
