"Four orders of Dark Moonshine coffee, please. Order number M8253. For take out." A customer had ordered it online and Trex stood up from the counter and relayed it to Khrav. He prepared it in no time.
"Here's your—," He trailed off when he saw who was at the waiting line.
"Oh hi, you!" Rafflienne chirped.
Chassie smiled. She was behind Rafflienne who ordered the drink.
Khrav cleared his throat. "For you?"
Rafflienne was the one who replied. "Nah, we don't drink this stuff. It's for some elderly couple's Machyllyn passed by at the park."
Trex raised his eyebrows at Khrav.
"Hang on, you are Machyllyn's friends? "The" Machyllyn?" Trex asked, turning to the girls.
The girls turned to Khrav for his answer. He might have been ranting to Trex for the past few weeks about The Queens.
Trexton Yllaga Dquiangco, a product of a mix-marriage from the Upper North and Lower South Sectors, Khrav's co-bartender slash friend he met four years ago in this cafe bar. He's medium built with a buzz cut black hair and a rough looking six o-clock shadow. A little white line of a long time ago scar is visible on his lower lip. Trex is a licensed engineer but he said being a barista was his calling.
"Uh," Khrav hesitated. "Yeah." He scratched his head lightly.
"Oh my God, so you're "the" Chassie? You're so pretty I think I'm dying." Trex crooned and clutched his heart. Chassie's innocent I dunno what's going on look was plastered on.
"Khrav's told me so much about you! He's been fanboying about you and your music for the past years! You're his longtime—" Khrav covered Trex's mouth from behind.
"Nothing, don't listen to him." He covered his face with his other hand, embarrassed. Then let Trex go.
The girls were watching them, amused. Then Rafflienne sniggered. Even Chassie tried to suppress her laughter.
"Khrav, right?" Rafflienne asked. "We've been seeing you more often than we like."
Trex cleared his throat and wiped his hands on his brown apron. "By the way I'm Trexton."
"Hi, I'm Rafflienne. This is Chassiah." She extended her hand forward the way a king extends the hand with a ring to be kissed.
Chassie bowed subtly with her hand in front of her in a prayer-like gesture that touched the tip of her slender nose. "Lovely to meet you."
Trex looked at Khrav for help about Rafflienne who also seemed like he doesn't know what to do.
"Ah nevermind." Rafflienne grinned. She took back her hand and grabbed the paper handle of the drinks. She cocked her head at Trex and said, "Anyway, you look handsome today, Trex." She winked and grinned accentuating the silver star piercing on her right eyebrow Trex could barely make it out. "And that scar on your lip really really looks good on you."
Chassie rolled her eyes. Khrav could swear that Trex blushed.
"Nice to meet you. Come again!" He waved the girls goodbye just as they're leaving the shop.
When the bar door closed behind them Trex spoke, "Shit Khrav, sila ba talaga yun? Woah."
"Yeah." He muttered.
But what disturbed Khrav was what they came to buy the drinks for.
