Hongjoong was running, running as fast as he could down the stairs, as fast as his legs allowed him to. He was pretty fast for being someone who spent his time mostly at home, at school and at the arcade, someone who was truly too lazy to do sport but was still good at it if he put some effort on what he does.
He was running, but he didn't knew why.
Behind me there's no one...
When the blonde boy looked up he saw a flame red door at the end of the stairs, he slowed down staring at it trying to catch his breath and then gulped.
Not a good sign when a door stands alone at the end of the stairs, he thought smiling nervously while reaching out for the handle pulling it down and then pushing the door open.
Uhm?
There was a young pretty woman with dark brown curly hair that was sitting on a bed with a kid that was resting his head on her lap while she was caressing kindly his hair with a tender smile on her lips.
Mom..., was his first thought while feeling his eyes getting teary while his chest ached, he missed her so much. He missed her smile, her laugh, when she patted his head whenever he got good marks, when she hugged him whenever he was sad. Just her presence as a whole. They had so much to tell each others.
«Mom, why are you and dad always away?» kid Hongjoong asked with a little pout on his lips while the hand caressing his head stopped.
«Because we're working hard to protect you and your granny, Hongjoong.» the woman answered with a little soft smile on her lips pocking his cheek.
«Protect us? - his little version questioned rising an eyebrow confused and then looking up to his mom. - Protect us from what?»
«Protect you guys from...»
Hongjoong furrowed his eyes while watching the scene.
From what?, he saw her lips move but didn't heard what she said even though he was focused on what was happening in front of him.
His mom then turned to him making the boy jolt in surprise while she kept moving her lips.
What? I can't hear. Speak loudly, Hongjoong begged in his mind and noticed that even if he tried to speak no sound came out from his mouth.
Then suddenly he felt someone's hand reaching for his shoulder from behind making him freeze on spot. When he turned his eyes widened in shock at seeing the vampire woman who tried to suck his blood when he was in middle school.
«Give me your blood...» she growled with the same dry voice from that time while reaching her hands out to grab him.
Hongjoong gritted his teeths trying to move away from her touch but when he turned his head away other two hands reached for him making the blond boy snap his eyes open and widen even more at seeing Minju smirk at him evily.
«Look at you Kim Hongjoong... your blood's aroma is so good... so tasty...» the girl spoke with a glint of excitement in her voice while the two of them were getting closer to his neck, their fangs ready to pierce it.
He kept moving his head in an attempt to escape their fangs but they kept getting closer and closer to his neck until he didn't felt the tip of Minju's fangs on his neck and-
Hongjoong snapped his eyes open breathing in from his throat sharply in a choked sound that made his throat burn as if someone set it on fire.
After few seconds in which he had stopped breathing, the boy started inhaling and exhaling air frenetically from his mouth moving his eyes all over the ceiling recognizing it as one of the academy's dorms but once he looked down, the room was completely different from his.
