*Deku's POV*
I fingered my phone nervously, wondering whether I should do it or not......
I groaned and buried my face in my hands. Why was I hesitating? I was only asking her on a date. But....it was more complicated than that. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.....
Growling in frustration, I hit her number on my phone screen. The phone vibrated as it placed the call.
"Hey, Deku."
Ochaco's delighted voice on the other end gave me courage. I held the phone closer to my mouth.
"Hey, sweetie, I was just wondering if you'd like to take a walk on the beach with me this evening," I asked. Her voice came again.
"Yes! Of course! I'd love too!"
I breathed a sigh of relief. Things were looking up.
"Okay, I'll come get you in.....an hour?"
"Yep. See you in an hour! I love you!" She said. I smiled.
"I love you too."
As we hung up, I rushed around, trying to get ready. Why was I so agitated?

I held out my hand to help Ochaco down onto the soft sand. As soon as her feet sunk into it, she lifted each foot, removed her shoes and chucked them to the side. I watched her carefully, and finally decided to follow suit.Ochaco intertwined her fingers with mine as we continued along the beach.
The sunset in the distance cast illuminations of peach and pink light across us, illuminating Ochaco's beautiful, warm brown eyes. She tilted her face up to the twilight air and inhaled deeply. I watched her, and realised again how much I loved her, and what I'd sacrifice a thousand times over just to see her smile. I squeezed her hand.
"Ochaco?"
"Hm?"
She turned her full attention to me, facing away from the gorgeous sunset behind her. But it didn't even come close to her beauty. I took both her hand in mine and said,
"We're Pro-heroes now. Life is a lot harder than it used to be for the both of us, and I don't know what I'd do without you by my side," I said.
Ochaco watched me with her enchanting eyes wide. They made me feel weightless, like some sort of anti-gravity was working on me.
"I guess what I'm trying to say is-"
"IS THIS A PROPOSAL?!" Ochaco squealed suddenly as I got on one knee. I blushed, as one of her hands flew to her reddening cheeks.
"I'm so sorry," she gasped, "I'm such a ninny. Please continue."
I chuckled at her goofishness. She was so cute. I loved this aspect of her as well, the one that ruined all the sentimental moments.
Ochaco waited in patient silence, obviously keen to hear what I had to say, so I continued.
"Your so kind, beautiful, graceful and-"
"Oh, I doubt that," Ochaco interrupted again, "I'm always tripping and I'm such a klutz. Remember that time at the winter ball when I fell over my own two feet and knocked both you and me into the nearest dancers? Oh, sorry, keep going."
I smiled. Man, I loved this girl.
"I love every aspect of you, the silly side, the sarcastic side, the clumsy side, the sweet side, even your cranky side that shows when I come to drop things off at early hours of the morning-"
"Yeah, sorry, I'm just not very becoming right after bed," she said, "Oh no! I'm sorry for interrupting you again! I swear to stay quiet!"
She drew two fingers across her lips in a sealing movement. I grinned again.
"-I love that you interrupt me and keep me on my feet. And yet, you also make me feel weightless," I said, softly, reaching into my pocket, "I love you with my whole being. Please let me feel like that for the rest of my life."
I pulled the box out and opened it. Nestled inside was a gold band with three tiny pearls.
"Will you marry me?"
Ochaco stared down at the box and then at me. Suddenly, she flung herself forward and hugged me fiercely. Being unstable on one knee, I went toppling into the sand, and Ochaco landed above me. She kept her hold on me, repeating the phrase;
"Yes, yes, yes, yes! A million times yes!"
I threaded my arms around her waist and hugged her even closer.
We stayed like for several moments before I pulled back slightly. I was met with those chocolate eyes again.
"Marriage will not be easy for us," I explained, "being Pro-heroes, we will be faced with a lot of challenges as a married couple. If you're not ready-"
"Deku," Ochaco whispered softly, touching my face, "No matter what trials or misfortunes may befall us, I will be by your side. Always."
Ochaco grinned, and I smiled back as she leaned in to kiss me. It was the most amazing kiss yet. She threaded her arms around me and didn't stop, and I certainly didn't object.
After all, I was in......my hero's arms.
