The next couple of weeks were the hardest weeks that Niall had had to go through in his life.

Louis was still ignoring them and that hurt like a stab to the heart because he, Zayn and Louis had been friends for as long as Niall could remember.

Harry was extra sweet to Niall, always trying to cheer him up and distract him from worrying so much about Louis. The lads were all grateful that Louis hadn't told on them. But it still hurt.

It even got to the point, where Niall stopped eating lunch in the cafeteria because he couldn't bare to be sat at the same table where he and Louis once sat but only Zayn and himself occupied the place while Louis had moved to the jock's table and seemed to be doing well.

So he and Zayn found themselves leaving the school grounds and crossing the street to have lunch in the small cafe every day.

And now, getting out of bed and getting ready for another day just put more weight on his already heavy heart.

He sluggishly got ready for school and walked downstairs in the gloomiest mood ever.

But he didn't care because he got sucked into his mood without even realizing it. A couple of weeks ago, when Harry told him to give Louis some time, he thought it would be easy.

But after a week, he realised that it was harder than he ever thought it would be.

He sighed as he got to the kitchen and unfortunately for him, that action didn't go unnoticed by his father who happened to be in the kitchen making breakfast for his family.

"Okay, Niall. What's the matter? Spill." Bobby said as he put a bowl of cereal for Niall on the table.

"Good morning too, dad." Niall managed a weak cheeky smile which earned an eye roll from his dad.

"Son, I know you think I don't notice but you are the most bubbly person on this earth. And if you go a day, nevermind a week,  without so much as cracking a smile, then something is wrong. Now tell me, like old times, man on man." Bobby sat down with his own breakfast and Niall sighed.

He had been kind of hoping his folks hadn't caught on to his behaviour but he forgot that he had the most observant parents on the planet.

The only thing he had managed to hide from them successfully is that fact that he was sleeping with his teacher.

His father, although he didn't spend a lot of time at home, was the most observant one and he always inquired when he saw something unusual from Niall.

Like when Niall started having sex just after turning seventeen, he had given him the talk and made sure Niall was being safe.

To this day, Niall would never get over the embarrassment he had to go through that day.

"Niall?" He was brought out of his thoughts by his father's voice.

"Huh? Oh uh, I'm okay dad. Really, just a little misunderstanding with Louis but we'll sort it out." He said evasively.

"Ah I see. Friends are important and I know it takes a toll on you when you and your friends fall out, just know that I'm always here to listen when you need someone to talk to, yeah?" Bobby said and Niall internally thanked his old man for not pushing it.
