29- Fuck This, Screw Everything

Over the days that followed, Niall and Shawn had gotten closer.

Although, Shawn hadn't made a move on Niall yet and vice versa. Niall had been found hanging out with his two bestfriends more, along with Shawn and sometimes, Andrew.

At the moment, Niall was lying in bed after school on a Friday, afternoon. They had just had the last meeting about the fair that was happening the next day and Niall was more than excited.

Mainly because, he was looking forward to all the things that he would take part in and also because he had the perfect song to perform.

"Niall, Shawn's here!" Niall heard his mum yell. "Go right up, love."

Niall smiled at the fact that he could see Shawn. He had actually promised that he'd stop by so Niall wasn't surprised.

"Hey, you." Niall smiled at Shawn as soon as he opened his bedroom door and got in.

"Hey." Shawn smiled back. "Nice room." Shawn looked around the room and Niall realised that Shawn hadn't been inside his room before. Although they'd hang out at Niall's house before.

"Thanks. Make yourself comfortable." Niall gestured to his desk chair then his bed.

Shawn walked over to Niall's bed and sat down, making Niall sit up with his back on the headboard.

"Come sit here." Niall patted the space next to him and Shawn quickly took it.

Niall covered both of them with his comforter and asked Shawn what he would like to watch.

Soon the two lads found themselves watching re-runs of Friends and laughing here and there.

"Niall..." Shawn said after about twenty minutes and right away Niall knew that he was nervous about something. His voice was a dead giveaway.

"Yeah?" Niall said lightly. Trying to make him as comfortable as possible so that he could speak. Niall had learned that Shawn seemed like a bad boy but he was a really big softie.

"When was the last time you were in a relationship with someone?" Shawn asked a little bold this time and Niall turned to look at him.

"Why the question?" Niall smiled.

"I'm just trying to get to know you." Shawn shrugged.

"Know me? Then you should have asked my favourite colour or food or something." Niall smirked.

"Well, not that kind of knowing. I just... I like you Niall. But you seem like such a closed book and I couldn't help but think that maybe someone hurt you or something that's why I asked the last time you were in a relationship- why didn't you tell me I was rambling?" Shawn asked with a chuckle.

Niall looked at Shawn, he knew that Shawn liked him and it would only be a matter of time before he said something. But that didn't mean it surprised him less.

"I have never been in a relationship. But you are right, someone did hurt me." Niall said slowly. He felt tears pricking his eyes just by recalling how blunt Harry was.

"Oh. I see... Can you tell me more? If that's okay." Shawn asked and took Niall's hand in his.

Niall looked at their hands together. It felt nice, very nice but it wasn't Harry.

"Yeah, I can tell you somethings just don't push for more if I decide to stop." Niall said, looking at Shawn who nodded.

"I liked this guy. We were just friends who kissed and... you know did things from time to time. And I don't know why I agreed to it but we said no strings attached and stuff. We agreed we weren't gonna fall for each other and that if we did fall, we would break it off." Niall turned to look at Shawn who was listening attentively.
