So off went Marinette into the 'salle de bain' 🛁 (aka the bathroom). And as the rest of the party awaited the pulled out a deck of cards to play speed and 21 in the meantime.

Marinette could not understand the point of this dare as she turned on the hot water the later sprung from the faucet.

But she'd definitely find out as soon as she got wet.

•••••••••••••••••

Marinette flinched from the contact of the hot water seeping into her clothes. It started from her favorite white shirt all the way down to the bottom cuffs of her lovely pink jeans and socks. Having wet socks didn't seem as bad as people usually say but for now since she was surrounded by water, she'd have to wait until she exited the bath to truly test that theory herself. Luckily she wasn't wearing shoes at the time the dare wash given because that would've been a whole new level of gross.

All of a sudden she felt relief that she had the privilege of her parents owning a washer and drier for her to use as soon as her friends left for the evening to go back home, because no way would she fall asleep with this. 'Nuh uh and never in a million years!"

But for now, she moved to work her hair into a rich lather, so that at least when she came out of the bath her hair would give off a coconuty-like aroma.

She froze for a few seconds to contemplate the complete idiocy of what she was currently doing: Bathing with her clothes on. Like who the actual hell, does this?!

She huffed as her thoughts focused on rationalizing the situation.

In the end she had always been one of those people who would often be heavy in their thoughts when they showered.

She liked to imagine that her sweet and goofy partner Chat would be one of those bathroom singers, that would sing his heart out as he bathed, giving the biggest and most dramatic performance to an imaginary audience just for the hell of it.

He was so aloof and silly sometimes that it seemed completely plausible to her as she began to giggle in the shower to herself.

Once her laughter had settled down she pursed her lips in thought.

She immediately felt guilty and wondered if her Chaton was doing okay tonight. She knew he was with his friends too, but she just couldn't help but worry. She would always wish the best for partner and no matter what that will never ever change.
Marinette let the water hit her like a crushing weight for a bit, and imagined the water hitting her like acid rain to make up for her guilt. After the imagery settled she then decided to go back to her question at hand to take her mind off things.

Marinette realized something about herself in this whole exchange with Nino, Adrien, and Alya.

She didn't want to be the moody friend who would quickly turn down a dare. In the end, it was her and Adrien versus the annoyingly fiendish power couple.

It was to see who could take the most heat before finally flaking and she definitely didn't want to be the first to crumble under the pressure.
Most importantly let's not forget that she also definitely didn't want to disappoint her crush into thinking that she was a wuss for an easy dare.
