After that, I had nothing better to do but follow them. I was technically on their side.
"Why are you following us?"
"I'm a Resistance member, too. And, my home is across the country."
"Right..."I had followed them all of the way, about a two and a half mile walk. Apparently, they had not taken any car of sorts. We hoisted the 'operators' on our shoulders. I had decided to make small talk with the man to my left.
"Name's Noah Lincolin. Yours?"
"John. Johnathan Hanes."
"Have any family or close relatives?"
"I have a daughter, 4-years-old, named Veronica. My wife, Demeta, is 39. You?"
"Nope. I did have a girlfriend, also name Veronica, but she got..."
"Oh, sorry man..."
"It's alright. I can probably get her back with that odd lightning. By the way, what's your unit code?"

"Damn, Group 13 got completely wiped out. You're lucky to be alive, probably because of that lightning of yours."

"Is this your camp site?"
"Yep. We have a guest tent over there you can stay in. I'll tell the proconsul."
