...going around the old building, you feel uneased.

'How did this even happen?'

Let's see...

Today, your friend [F/N] was turning her and your assignment to your teacher, but she accidentally tripped and sprained her ankle.

Of course, being a caring friend you are, you accompanied your friend to the nurse AND handed your assginments, but halfway back from the old building, you were lost.

"Hngg!" You squealed as you turned around. "Another empt-"

Creeeaaak

Your eyes widen.

Your head slowly turn into the empty classroom you just walk past by.

There was nothing in there.

Still nothing in there.

Silence.

"Phew..."

A hand crept through the gap between the door.

"KYAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

You ran at top speed towards the opposite side, soon finding a staircase. Without further ado, you stepped on the first staircase.

Just before you stepped on the fourth stair, that mysterious hand got yours and pulled you back.

His hands are cold.

"WUAAAAH!"

"Oi, oi, calm down."

A boy's voice?

You looked around you, yelped realizing the boy and you are floating. The boy slowly put you down and flew in front of your face.

"Are you okay?"

"A-a ghost?!" You stuttered.

The boy chuckled and put his hand on his hat.

"I'd prefer... appartition. I am this school's seventh mystery, Toire no Hanako-san. Pleasure to meet you."

"Heeh-?! But you're supposed to be a girl-"

He laughed. "Well, that's some error of the rumors, but the rest you've heard is true."

Hanako looked at you curiously. "And you?"

"U-um!" Still not believing what's in front of your eyes, you gulped. "I-I'm.. [L/N] [Y/N]. A-and, call me by the first name."

"[Y/N], huh..." His face drew closer. "And what brings you to the Misaki Kaidan?"

"Ah... I just seem to be lost. But what's this Misaki thing?"

"This staircase." Hanako hovers over the staircase you were just about to step on. "Don't you know? No. 2's legend. You mustn't step on the fourth stair or you might break up with your lover, you know."

You nodded. "Ah... I see! I think I have heard of the rumors from Akane-san-ah!"

You quickly turned to Hanako, your face flustered. "I-I don't have a lover! What do you mean my lover?"

"Heeh~? You don't? You're pretty nice and you're worth having one. Why don't you?"

You sighed. "That's where the problem is..."

Hanako thought for a while, and he snapped his fingers. "Follow me!"

"Hanako-san, why are we in the girl's toilet?"

"Well, this is my boundary, basically territory." He sat on the sink.

"Ah, anyway, why were you at the Misaki Kaidan earlier?"

"I was paying a visit."

Hanako rested his chin on his hand. "You see, I am a ghost who grants any kinds of wishes. In return," oh boi he smirks- "I'll take something from you."

"So? Do you have anything in mind? A boyfriend, perhaps?"

Any... kind of wish?

"Ah... I could think of nothing good. At least, right now." You turned to him. "How about you, Hanako-san?"

"Hm?" Hanako floated upside down, very, I repeat, VERY close to your face. "My wish? Why would you care?"
"Un! Everyone, dead or alive has wishes, right?" You blushed crazily. "H-how about yours?"

"My, [Y/N]. " he laughed. His laugh sounded cute. "Why, I can only grant living being's wishes, after all! It's no use knowing MY wish." Hanako spaced out for a bit.

"E-even though, I have this one wish..." he looked down in embarassment.

"I want to have friends and not be so lonely."

You suddenly understood.

Even appartitions can be lonely.

You eyed Hanako for a while, looking at his features.

His mouth forms a wide smile, but his big golden eyes couldn't lie. A hint of sadness is shown.

Breaking the silence, Hanako chuckled, fixing his hat. "My, my, I have talked a lot about myself, I'm sorry. So, have you thought of your wish?"

All the sudden, you exactly know what your wish should be. Your [E/C] orbs shone and you smiled.

"I wish you had friends and not to be lonely!"

Hanako gasped. "A-ah, but, [Y/N]... Aren't you aware, that if I granted your wish which meant to be mine, won't YOU have to pay the price instead..?"

You smiled wider. "It's alright, Hanako-san! I might have no wishes currently, so... I'll try make other's wishes come true. That's just me."

Hanako's golden orbs shone. And he smirks. "Interesting..."

He lifted your chin up and eyed on you. Your heart skipped a beat.

"Ja ne, I'll grant your wish. In return..."

"You shall give me your labor and be my friend."

You blushed a mess, but you nodded in a closed eye smile.
"So... it's Hanako-kun, now?"
