Katie must have had a déja vu moment, because before long, Kiara had grown into a healthy playful cub in the same way that Simba had. The princess had the same type of adventurous spirit that both her father and mother had.
She had another vision of another cub that looked like Mufasa and Simba combined, and before long, the King and Queen had another cub named Kion.
One morning, she was overlooking the Pridelands with Kiara, and started to follow her down the summit of Pride Rock.
"Whoa!" A familiar voice said and he grabbed Kiara with his mouth.
Katie shook her head, laughing. Ever since the princess had been born, Simba had been known to be overprotective.
"Where do you think you're going in such a hurry?" Simba said playfully while he grabbed her with his paw when she tried to dart off.
"Daddy! Let go!" Kiara giggled.
"Well, I just want you to be careful." Simba said.
"She is being careful, although I do remember you going through the same speech every single day." Katie pointed out as he stopped her from trying to catch a butterfly.
"Kiara, are you listening? Accidents can happen. You could easily get--" Simba said.
"Hurt or stepped on, or even get lost," Kiara sighed.
"And remember to stay within sigh of Pride Rock--" Simba said.
"At all times, I know." Kiara rolled her eyes in annoyance, and honestly, Katie didn't blame her. "And if I see any strangers, don't talk to them. Come straight home. Okay, okay, can I go now? Please?"
"Very funny," Simba smirked just as Nala, Taka and Joshua sidled up to them.
"If I were you, I'd follow your dad's advice." Joshua said.
"Mind your father, Kiara." Nala smiled gently.
"Yes, Mom." Kiara giggled.
"And stay away from the Outlands." Simba warned, a little more sternly this time. Zazu landed in front of Kiara and Katie.
"Nothing there but a bunch of murderous backstabbing Outsiders." Zazu interjected.
Katie's smile disappeared as Simba mentioned the place that was barren with inactive volcanoes and termites and the group of lions that lived there. Not long after she became Sorceress and Kopa had been killed, Simba had banished that group to the Outlands because they had been Scar's followers. And to add to the problem, Taka knew their leader, also known as his former mate, Zira. Zira was just as conniving and power hungry as he had been before Katie had used her magic to split Scar's soul in two, and his dark side had been killed...but Zira didn't know that. Or any part of the story, really. All she knew was that Simba killed Scar.
Taka lowered his eyes in shame. Of course, he had known this band of lions when he had reigned the Pridelands before Simba and Katie came back and rightfully took the throne. At this, Joshua just petted Taka's mane, knowing that he had made amends with his actions.
"The past is past, Taka. You've done so much to help Simba and Katie restore the Pridelands." Joshua pointed out gently.
"I know, but the past might come back to haunt me eventually. Zira doesn't even know the whole truth." Taka said sadly.
"She will somehow. I can almost see Katie splitting her soul in two like she did with you." Lizzie said, noting their conversation.
"Hmm...Maybe," Taka nodded with hope.
