Movie Night

Chapter One

Shawn's POV

I get the popcorn and put it in a bowl. I take it to the couch and snuggle up with jules. I kiss her. "What's the movie?" I asked. "Titanic." She said. "Ooh I love this movie." I said. "Me too." I said. I snuggled closer to her. "I love you." "I love you too." She said and I kissed her. She kissed back and we started the movie. 5 minutes into the movie she shivered. "You ok?" "Im freezing." She said. "Oh baby. Want some blankets?" She nodded. I paused the movie and got her two fluffy blankets. I put them around the both of us and I laid down with her on the big couch and snuggled her. "Better?" "We will see." She said. Five minutes later she said she's still cold. I get her five more blankets. She was cold. I started the movie again and she was still freezing. I paused it sighing. "I'm sorry shawn." "No it's fine." I said taking off my shirt and pants and she stripped to her underwear and bra. I got five more blankets and put them on top of us. I turned on the movie. "Any better?" I sighed. "A tiny bit." She said. "Are you sick?" "No." She said. I felt her forehead. She felt kinda cold. "Do I feel cold?" I asked. She put her hand on my forehead. "Yeah" she said. "Let me just check the thermostat." I said getting up. I checked it and it said 40*F. "Wait that can't be right." I muttered. I checked again, same thing. "Holy crap. It's freezing." I said. "At least I'm not the only one." She said. "It's 40 degrees jules." "Wow." She said. "I'll call Gus ask him if we can stay at his place.. Because it won't let me change it." I said. "Ok." She said getting on her clothes. I put on mine and called Gus. "Gus! I'm so glad your awake." "Yeah shawn what's up?" "Our thermostat is broken and it's locked at 40 degrees can we stay at your place?" "Yeah of course." He said. "Oh my god Gus your a lifesaver, I owe you one. Next year we can go to the spelling bee thing." "Yes!" Gus said. "I'll be over in ten." I said. "Got it." Gus said. He hung up and I hung up then we packed and went to Gus' house. "Hey guys." Gus said answering the door. "Hey sorry bout this." "No problem guys." He said letting us in. "Uncle shawn! Auntie Julie!" Max said smiling. We smiled at him and put our stuff in the guest bedroom where Gus said we could stay. We brought titanic with us and put it in our room which had a tv. We went outside after changing into our pjs. "So what exactly happened?" "We were watching a movie and I couldn't get warm so we ended up smothering ourselves with blankets. 22 blankets and 3 pauses later, we checked the thermostat and it said 40 degrees and it wouldn't go up. So we called you." She explained. "Ah." "Yay your staying with us!" Max said. I smiled. "I'll call the guy to fix our thermostat." "Ok." She said. I called the guy that always gives me a discount on stuff. "Thanks ted." I said. "Ok he said it should be fixed next week cause they are busy." "Ok." "Gus that cool?" I asked. "Perfectly cool." "your staying with us for a week? Awesome!" Max said. I laughed. "Gus piano where it always is?" I asked. "Yeah. Why?" "No reason." "Shawn you don't play piano." Gus said. I went over to the piano and started playing Clair De Lune by Debussy as perfectly as I could, I'd been playing piano my whole life. "Holy shit." Gus said. I held in a smile. "There are somethings even you don't know about me Gus. I've been playing piano my whole life." I said. "It's perfect, your not missing a single note." Gus said surprised. I kept playing. "Any requests?" I asked as I finished the song. "Shawn you do realize that's a very difficult song, and you just played it perfectly." "Gus I only started learning this yesterday." I said laughing. "But. But. But." "Oh Gus you magnificent tropical fish." I said. Juliet laughed. "It's impressive, I didn't know you played." She said. "Thank you." I said. "What else can you play?" "What do you want me to play? I play by ear and I read notes." "Beethoven." Max said. "Any particular song?" "Moonlight sonata?" He asked. "I'm surprised you know that song." I said starting to play it. "My teacher played it for us. I just wanna see if you play it." I started to play it as well as I could. Jules sat next to me and watched me play. Max closed his eyes as he listened to the music. "It's beautiful isn't it? Not my playing but the song itself." I said. "Yes." Max said. "Max I didn't know you liked classical." Rachel said. "Yeah." Max said. Gus smiled. "Your amazing." Jules said quietly. "Thank you, you are too." I finished the song. "Any more requests or stop playing?" I asked. "Can you teach me to play?" Jules asked me quietly. "Sure." I said quietly. "Uh jules wants to learn how to play so." "K." Max said. "What song?" "Uh Clair de lune." "It's pretty hard to learn." "Well you can help me with the easy stuff." "Moonlight sonata is easier." "Ok I like both." I showed her the notes and then helped her make chords and play the song. She repeated after me and she was a fast learner. {(Hey anyone beats Keerah am I right? Jk)} "wow you learned in an hour! you wanna play it?" I asked. She nodded. I gave her the bench and she played it perfectly. I massaged her shoulders while she played. "How was it?" "Absolutely perfect." I said kissing her cheek. All the others had fallen asleep. We played softly so not to wake the others up and then went to bed. I kissed her cheek and we fell asleep.
