Chapter 1

"Akemi Iseri, third seat of the eleventh company, Head Captain Yamamoto of the Thirteen Court Guard Companies requests your presence." A messenger shouted to Akemi while she was sparring with Yumichika and Ikkaku. Akemi, the 5'7 female soul reaper, sheathed her sword, and wiped sweat off her brow.

Akemi sighed, "See you later guys! I'll be back!"

"Hey Akemi, I'll walk you while Ikkaku tells Captain Zarakai and Lieutenant Yachiru what's happening." Yumichika said, running to catch up to the dark blue haired girl.

"Okay- WAIT A SECOND! Why do I have to tell Captain Zarakai?" Ikkaku whined.

"'Cause you're the best?" Akemi said innocently, to her second best friend in the eleventh company. Ikkaku, Yumichika, and Akemi, seats 3, 4, and 5 of the 11th company, were best friends, and had all trained together before entering the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. She was practically family with them.

"Fine!" Ikkaku huffed and stalked off in the opposite direction. Akemi and Yumichika laughed, and went towards the captain meeting hall.

Kenpachi Zarakai and his lieutenant Yachiru were watching the three spar from afar, when Ikkaku ran up to him.

"Captain Zarakai, Akemi has just been called to-"

"I know." Kenpachi growled. "All the captains know, what's going to happen to Akemi Iseri."

Ikkaku nodded, a little worried about the fate of his blue-eyed friend, and headed towards some other squad to spar with someone else.

~Back to Akemi and Yumichika~

"What do you think Head Captain Yamamoto needs you for?" Yumichika asked as they near the point when they have to part ways.

"I don't know, I don't think I did anything." Akemi replied.

"You think you didn't do anything. Well whatever it is make sure to tell me."

"Okay. See you later Chika!" She said as they parted ways. He frowned at the nickname, but changed to a smiled and waved before turning around to head back to squad eleven barracks.

Akemi headed to the giant doors of the meeting hall, and knocked softly not knowing what to do since she had never been called to see the Head Captain.

-I wonder why the Head Captain wants to see ME! I mean I didn't do anything wrong. At least I think I didn't- Akemi thought as she entered the room.

There, across from her, stood Head Captain Yamamoto. He stood there with a serious look on his face, and his staff next to him.

"Akemi Iseri, I've awaited you."

Akemi nodded and stood up straight.

"I have decided, along with the captains of the Thirteen Court Guard Companies that you will go to the World of Living Karakura Town, and spend time there until we call you back. Now that Aizen has left, you must protect Karakura Town along with Deputy Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki."

"Yes sir, I will do my best!"

"You have 3 hours before you must leave. Say goodbye to your captain and friends. Meet outside of this building."

"Hey Chika, hey Ikkaku! I have something to tell you!" Akemi shouted as she ran to through squad eleven's barracks.

Yumichika and Ikkaku were resting near the training grounds, when Akemi ran near them.

"Akemi! Over here!" Ikkaku yelled, waving his hands.

Akemi stumbled to a stop, before running towards them. "Guys I have to tell you something, but I don't have much time!"

"Yes?" Ikkaku and Yumichika asked together.

"I'm being sent to the World of the Living!" Akemi said excitedly.

"That's great!" Yumichika exclaimed. "When are you going to come back?"

"I don't know." Akemi said frowning. "Umm, a month or two?"

"Have a good time in the World of Living." Ikkaku said, taking a drink of water.

"I'll miss you guys." Akemi said tearing up. "What if I don't come back for years?"

"Don't worry, we promise to come and visit. Right Ikkaku?" Yumichika bumped Ikkaku on the arm.

"Yeah!" Ikkaku said and Akemi hugged them both, before turning around and running off.

"Bye guys!" She yelled, heading off to say goodbye to Captain Zarakai.

Kenpachi was like a father to Akemi, and let her call him by his first name in private. She soon found him walking through the training grounds.

"Kenpachi, Yachiru, I've come to say goodbye!"

"Bye-bye 'kemi!" Yachiru chirped from her perch on Kenny's shoulder.

"Bye Akemi. I'll miss your fighting." Kenpachi growled patting Akemi lightly on the head.

"I promise I'll see you guys again!" Akemi said giving them both a hug. Then she glanced at the time. "Yikes! I have to go! I'm about to be late!"

Akemi took off towards the front of the captain meeting hall, barely making it on time.

"I'm so sorry Head Captain Yamamoto!" Akemi said stopping in front of him and bowing.

"You were on time. Barely." The Head Captain said glaring at her. He opened the portal. "We will call you soon, and update you on Aizen. Call us immediacy if anything out of the ordinary happens."

"Yes sir Head Captain!" Akemi saluted and with that she jumped into the portal.
