That day was terrible. I was constantly on edge, and I could feel eyes watching me from a distance. My sister kept asking me what was wrong, but I refused to tell her. I hoped she would give up, but it didn't deter her. Eventually, I gave in, telling her I was still unnerved from the dream I'd had. She didn't ask any further questions.

I tried to take my mind of everything, but I couldn't. In my peripheral vision, I could see him, staring at me from across the room, a sinister smirk plastered on his face. Figuring I was just paranoid, and not wanting to let it show, I never once turned to look at him. It was like this until I went upstairs. I spent the next hour or so browsing the internet, and then I heard it:

Tap... Tap... Tap...

I froze at the familiar tapping, not daring to move. My blood ran cold, and I slowly looked up from my phone. I stared at the window, half-expecting to see a face. I scanned the window for his face, as the feeling of being watched grew stronger, not helping my rising level of panic. Instead, I only saw darkness outside my window.

There was nothing there.

In the corner of my eye, I could see him again. But this time, something was different. This time, he was closer. I turned to my left, only to see him standing in front of my doorway, blocking my only exit. He was less than a metre away from me, and his body was blocking the light. Then it hit me, this wasn't just a hallucination. Sure I've hallucinated in the past, but they've never blocked the light before, even if they were standing right in front of it. This wasn't like any hallucination I've ever experienced, this was just too real. It was real. He was real. And yet, I still chose to doubt his existence.

"Go away! You're not real!" I demanded, although deep down, I didn't believe my own words. His smile widened, showing off his slightly pointed teeth, and his 2 large fangs. "I said go away!"

He got closer, stopping just inches away from me. I began shaking uncontrollably, fear taking over my senses. There was no denying that he was there. One thing's for sure, he wasn't going away. 'Maybe if I close my eyes, he'll leave' I thought, but when I opened my eyes, he was still there. In fact, he was closer than before, leaning down so his face was almost level with mine. Then, my heart sank, as he whispered in a haunting voice; "Is that what you really think?"

My eyes widened, and his voice sent shivers down my spine, causing goosebumps to form over my skin. He chuckled darkly, before speaking again; "Because if it is, you couldn't be more wrong... Don't doubt your senses, Crystal. They're more reliable than you think..."
