A Blind Date

As soon as Parth reached the corner where Vidushi was standing, Vidushi pulled him towards herself.

Parth : Aww baby I know you missed me but this isn't the place to enjoy ourselves. We are in public right now... we can save this for later baby.

Vidushi : This isn't funny Parth. You told me one of your colleague is going to be the person as her blind date and you bring Randhir himself here. I don't even know how did you find him!!

Parth : I never lied to you Vidushi. Randhir is really my colleague.

Vidushi : But you knew about there history and you still brought him. What do you want to see??? Her crying??? I trusted you Parth and Sanyukta means a lot to me and you have caused her pain by doing this. Bringing him here was a mistake. Hell agreeing to all this blind date thing was a mistake I did. Now I am going to walk down there and take her away as this date ends here. Get that!

Parth (holds her hand before she could leave) : Listen to me... this is the solution to every problem in relationships Sanyukta is facing. Do you think I don't care for her. She is like my little sister and I will always for her happiness.

Vidushi : Then why the hell did you do this?

Parth : Think about it Vidushi... the only wrong thing they did was not to talk to each other over the years because of this stupid teasing's. If they would have then either they would have been in a relationship or moved on from whatever happened. But as they never talked they never got the closure the both needed. As Sanyukta I have seen Randhir in the past few months I have worked with him... he stays away from girls and do the minimal talking to them so that he can't hurt them and this is what he had told me cause once I remember when he was a bit drunk he said that all this is because of one girl he had hurt because of his ignorance and i really think of that girl as Sanyukta. So this is what they need this is there chance of closure and a doorway to happy life. And i know this is what you wanted. It was your wish to see her happy. And it is my dream to try and fulfil your every wish. So just help me here.

Vidushi : You are right i wanted this but... Do you see them they are not even looking at each other forget talking! Do you think this would work out!??

Parth : Lets just wait and watch.

The other side Sanyukta and Randhir sat in silence too shocked to talked about anything. After the silence turned up toxic for Sanyukta she spoke.

Sanyukta : So long time... ho... how have you been? (Mentally killing herself for stuttering)

Randhir : Good! You?

Sanyukta : Me too. So you work in the same company as Parth?

Randhir : Yeah.

Again silence dawned upon them and no one spoke. Sanyukta expected him to speak something but the damn one word answer has already made her mood sour making her think that he wanted to keep his distance. She looked around for Parth and Vidushi but all she saw were happy couples making her thoughts more painful. She was trying to keep her mind off him until he spoke again.

Randhir : So how many times you have done this?

Sanyukta : Done what?

Randhir : You know this blind dating and stuff!

Sanyukta : What do you mean!!??

Randhir : No offence! Just asking.

Sanyukta : It's first time. What about you?

Randhir : Same.

The silence was again that settled among them. None spoke. Though they both had a lot to say but no one knew how to speak them out. The words were not enough for them to tell each other how deeply they felt for each other... for them to discuss what went wrong... what hurt them... what they want.

Seeing them not speaking to each other Vidushi got irritated.

Vidushi : Nothing is going to happen like this. I mean look at them they are not even looking at each other. Speaking is the farthest thing i expect them to do. Its time we go there and take matters in our hand.

Parth : But...

Vidushi : Don't. You did what you did now i will do this my way.

Vidushi and Parth went back to the table and took there seat. Sanyukta tried to ask her the details about this date through eyes but Vidushi ignored her and looked at Randhir.

Vidushi : Hey Randhir! Long time no see... how have you been??

Randhir : Good.

Vidushi : You know Parth... Sanyukta, Randhir and I used to be in same school and then even in same college. And Sanyukta and Randhir used to be great friends.

Sanyukta's eyes widened hearing all this and she was dreading if Vidushi was going to tell about her crush. She didn't even dare to look at Randhir dreading that he would be probably glaring at her. She poked her from beneath the table but Vidushi again royally ignored her.

Parth : Oh really! Then this date could actually work out between them.

Vidushi : May be... may be... you know during school... they used to be inseparable and...

Sanyukta : Uhh.. look food is here.

Sanyukta looked at Vidushi and pleaded to her with her eyes trying to give the best puppy face that could make her best friend melt and save her from the embarrassment she might receive.

Looking at Sanyukta, Vidushi sighed and nodded in understanding dropping her agenda but formulating another plan so that Sanyukta could finally get a closure and move towards new beginning. The start which will either be painful or joyful at start but surely past this and soon to the happiness she deserved.

After the waiter left Parth asked Vidushi about what she was saying but she eyed him to drop it. Soon the conversation flowed among them basically Vidushi and Parth with a few input from Sanyukta and Randhir. As the dinner got over they all stood up and Vidushi turned and told them "We are going to club."

Parth agreed to her knowing something was going on in Vidushi's mind. Though Sanyukta and Randhir tried to deny her but one look from Vidushi had Sanyukta agreeing to her and Randhir nodded automatically making her smirk in triumph.
