"You got a boyfriend
And he's a total loser
All your friends tell you that he's got no future
But they like me
Just saying."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kevin and Stella, the highschool sweethearts, is what everyone calls us. Before we got together he was the type of boy you would see with a new girl wrapped around his arm every day, the party type. All he ever does is party and drink booze with his friends. Highschool fail, he doesn't care about his grades, nor what his future contains. Our arguments would start off by me confronting him about his future and his grade, he would say I was being a bitch, leading onto us throwing stuff at each other, ending with me leaving whenever we were and going to talk to my best friend. The one and only, Lucas Hemmings.
I drove into the school parking lot, parking in my original spot and sat in my car for about 4 minutes. I groaned in annoyance rubbing my temples, I was not feeling school at all today. I slowly twisted my car key as I heard the engine of my car slowly die down. I grabbed my book bag and books out of the passenger seat hopping out of my car ready to face hell. My eyes scanned the parking lot looking for a particular someone that I always met up with in the mornings. Finally giving up I walked onto the school yard hoping nobody tried to talk to me this morning. I then heard little patter of footsteps catching up to mine as I turned around and was met by a small petite body with brown hair cascading her back and a pair of ray bans sitting on the bridge of her nose.
"So," Angie said bumping her hip with mine, "how was your date with Kevin last night?"
I rolled my eyes and scoffed at the mention of his name, "there was no date."
Angie stopped me by stepping in front of me and widening her eyes, "what do you mean, 'there was no date'?"
"There wasn't a date." I simply said stepping around her.
"What? Why not?"
"You know that party Matt was throwing last night, yeah, he bailed on me for that and told me he was 'studying'."
"Studying? Kevin Smith, studying? Is that even in his vocabulary?" Angie chuckled slightly.
I rolled my eyes again, "He's stupid to think I don't know that he was out getting drunk, again."
"He's a loser, Stel. I understand that you love him and that you two have been dating for almost 4 years, but why bother? He has no future."
"I love him and care about him, Gee. I want to see him do something with his life but I can't if he doesn't want too.." I trailed off.
"Let me guess, you went to Mr. Hemmings house to talk it out with him?" Angie smirked at me.
"Oh, you're good at this game." I said smiling towards her.
"And he said....?"
"Told me I shouldn't bother with a guy like him and that I deserve better."
"I like him," She said smiling.
"Yeah, I do too. He's my best friend.."
"Maybe he's better for you." Angie said above a whisper.
I came to a sudden halt, "What?" I asked in disbelief.
"Look, I'm just saying that Luke has been there for you since 7th grade, he's practically been the only person who has been there for you when something goes down between you and Kevin, excluding me of course," She said flipping her hair, "what I'm trying to get at is, Kevin treats you like utter shit, and it hurts me to see you in that kind of relationship. I'm all for seeing you happy with someone, but with someone like him, he has no future and he's trying to bring you down with him.. Maybe Luke is a better fit for you, just saying."
