“After several weeks doing nothing finally you got yourself a mission, huh?” Neo said, standing across from me in my room. He was leaning against the wall; his hands crossed before his chest and his face seemed to disliked that fact.

“Yeah,” I simply answered as I packed my things for the mission.

Yesterday when Razel and me finished our training and were walking to the cafeteria, Tamara stopped us mid-way and told us to go to Carlos’s office that used to be the officer room. It was located on the second floor.

“Called for us, boss?” I asked as we stepped into the office. He renovated the room a bit, moving some of the furniture to the spot he wanted it to be. The room wasn’t that big but he seemed to enjoy having a room for himself. Not to mention a decent room. I would be happy too if I were him.

“Yes. Welcome, Kaz and Razel,” he said, clapping his hands excitedly. He was sitting on the chair behind his desk. He leaned forward and propped his hands on the table as we walked closer to him.

When we stopped walking right before him, he started. “You two seems to be… in a very close relationship right now and Kaz,” he pointed to me and smiled a wicked smile. “People are very surprised,” he raised both eyebrows. “What is it that makes you want to be close to her? Is it just base on her appearance?” he looked at Razel and scanned her body from hair to toe and his gaze disgusted me. I didn’t want him to look at her like that. I didn’t want his filthy gaze on her.

I didn’t even want him to look at her.

“Please stop checking me out, sir, I hate it,” she said, right when I was about to jump in front of her to shield her. If it were me, I was sure I’d be dead by now. But then again, Carlos did have a soft spot for brave girls such as Razel, Tamara, and even Celeste.

He laughed an old man laugh. “And you, brave as ever, Razel. Salute.” He saluted with two fingers.

“What do you exactly want for us to be here, sir?” she said, to the point.

“Ah,” Carlos seemed to remember. “Right. About that.” He took a deep breath. “You see, we’re out of weapons supplies,” he started.

“Usually you would’ve chosen someone better than me, sir,” I said in reflex. It seemed the three of us were surprised by it. I had never interrupted Carlos when he was talking right in front of me. I could feel Razel’s proud gaze on me. She might be thinking something like she gave me the vibe. I guess that was quite true.

“How fantastic,” Carlos said, commenting on my interruption. “People do change do they?” he slowly nodded and smirked. He glanced over at Razel for a few seconds before turning his attention back to me then to both of us. “Back to the point,” he said. “I need you guys to go get us some weapons. We can’t get any weapons supplies easily now. You can only get it in an army base. The army bases are spread all over the place and the nearest one will take two days by walking.” He took a map out of a drawer and put it on the desk, almost slamming it and my guess was because my interruption earlier. He wasa vengeful guy after all. “I will send other teams too but to other different places. This place,” he tapped on the circle in the map that I guessed was the army base we’ll be heading. “Is yours to handle.” He leaned back against the chair, smiling a satisfying smile.
