<a very long time ago ... maybe?>

Two girls sat in a room, one in a corner and the other diagonally across from her. They stared at each other, wondering how they could be so similar and yet so different. They were twins. The first twins to ever be born.

Their parents entered the room. A golden flame and an ebony kiss. Father had pure light for eyes as he sought out one daughter. Mother's eyes shone cold and bright as they found the other daughter.

A deal: raise them separately and hope that the prophecy never comes true.

"One's death will cause the other."

"I don't want to leave her!" Cried the daughter being held now by Father. Her small, pale hands grabbed for her sister. A sister that stared back blankly, knowing that the only light in her life was being taken from her. Her sister. Her guide. Her best friend. Would be gone.

With a cool, detached mother as her only companion, the girl knew that her life would take a dark turn. Her sister knew as well. She fought to stay, but Father was too strong. He carried her away and raised her in the light of the Sun.

Mother led the other into the shadows, to be raised by only the moon.
