As I was surround by white, two rectangular boxes appeared in front of me. One was for my username and the other was for my password. I typed in "Kyo," because that was my name in this world, and then my password. It then searched.

"Data from beta-test located. Would you like to continue this file?" The computer asked.

"Yes." I said.

Suddenly, my character evolved around me. My hair changed from long, crimson red to short, dark blue. And my eyes changed from royal blue to an emerald green. Oh, did I forget something? My character...was a guy. That's why Tamaki called me Kyo yesterday.

Now, you're probably wondering why I chose to be a boy character instead of a girl. Well that's simple. Guys get more perks. Girls get all the stupid things like cooking or sewing, and all that other bullshit... With a guy, you get so much more! I have duel blades that I forged myself from a blacksmith. With a boy character, you can battle, become leaders, and so much more! And the fact that if anyone found out I was a girl, they'd flip... I don't want to have to worry about guys gawking over me, but I can gawk over them, silently.

Suddenly, two boys appeared in front of me. I smirked at seeing Satoshi and Tamaki. "Well, look who finally decided to show up." Satoshi smirked.

"We somebody had school and homework, thank you very much."

We all laughed before going to the outskirts of town to do some more training. I was killing more monsters, helping out some of the newbies that stopped by.

"Okay, so first you have to look at your target, at least get it in focus." I said to a guy who went by the name Klein.

"Okay..." He said.

"Next, you have to focus your energy on your attack to activate it." I explained, my sword lighting up. "And then...strike." I darted off, hitting a boar, but not enough to kill it. "Now you try."

Klein did as I showed him and killed the boar as it shattered in glass and bright sparkles, gaining experience. "Yes! I did it!"

"Yeah, but those things aren't worth much experience." I said.

"At least it's practice." He said.

"Yeah. I should probably get going. My...sister needs help with her homework." I lied, pretending I was my brother.

"Sister!?" He ran up to me, grabbing both my arms as he was right in my face. "How old is she? Is she cute? Is she--"

I cut him off by kneeing him in his crotch as he grabbed it, rolling on the ground as if it hurt. "You know we can't feel pain in the game, right...?"

"Huh?" He quickly stood. "Oh yeah, I knew that." He scratched his head.

I rolled my eyes.

"Well I should get going." He said, going into his menu. "What the...?"

"Somethin' wrong?" Asked Tamaki as him and Satoshi came over to us.

"There's no logout." Klein said.

"Sure there is. It's in the menu." I said, going into my menu.

"It's not there." Klein said.

I stared at my menu. There was a blank space where the logout used to be. "What the hell...?"

"Maybe it's a glitch." Satoshi said.

"Yeah, the game was just released, so it's probably got a few bugs." Klein chuckles nervously. "I bet people are freaking out right now..."

There was no logout. What the hell is going on? I've been a beta-tester for three months now, I think I'd know where the logout is.

"Can't we just rip the NerveGear off?" Satoshi suggested.

"That be nice," I started. "but we can't move our bodies in the real world."

"Have you tried calling the tech master?" Tamaki asked.

"He's not responding." Klein said sadly.

What the hell is going on?
