I let out a sigh. It's been three weeks and even I haven't found anything on the first boss, but I was getting close. I changed my outfit to something simple. As I ranked up, I would wear more advanced equipment. But for now, I just wore a simple pair of shorts; a short sleeve shirt; some black thigh highs; my breast plate armor; knee high boots; black, fingerless gloves; and a black scarf around my neck. But then as I had gathered in this group, we got info on the first boss.
I used my scarf as a makeshift hood, placing it on my head to cover my eyes as the rest of the scarf covered my neck and mouth. As I sat down, a girl in a brown cloak sat next to me. When the guy holding the meeting said we had to form a party of at least six, I didn't bother dealing with it, until a boy with short, jet black hair scooted next to me and the girl.
"You got left out too, huh?" He asked.
I pushed my scarf down a bit to uncover my mouth. "Not left out... I chose to be alone."
"Everyone looks like they're already friends." The girl said.
"Well, do you wanna form a party with me?" He asked. "It'll just be for this battle."
We both nodded as the boy invited us. I clicked the blue circle to accept and found out their names were Asuna and Kirito. When the meeting finished after some idiot picked on us beta-testers, we all agreed at 10:00 am tomorrow to fight the boss.

The next morning was the day of the battle as Asuna, Kirito, and I were at the ready. When we got through the door, the boss showed up as we charged for him. My party held off the minions as everyone else went for the boss. But then, when he took out a sword that wasn't even in the beta, Diabell made the mistake of going for it.
I gasped. "No, stop!"
"It's no good!" Kirito said.
Diabell got slashed by the boss as Kirito and I ran over to him. "You idiot!" I said, taking out a potion, only to have him push it away. "What?"
"You...you two were beta-testers...like me..." I gasped softly. "You...you have to lead...them." He said before disappearing.
I sighed before standing. "Let's finish him..." I said, Asuna appearing next to me.
"We'll help too." She said.
I nodded before we charged off. I blocked the attack. "Asuna, switch!"
"I'm on it!" Asuna said as she struck the boss.
We continued to strike the boss, until Kirito and I decided to end it. "You're mine!" Kirito and I slashed our swords upwards as we finished the boss off once and for all, my makeshift hood falling off my head.
When it was finished, everyone cheered as me and Kirito got the final attack gift since we both finished him off. Kirito got the Coat of Midnight while I got the Midnight Cloak. "Stop cheering!" Someone shouted. "Don't cheer them. Why...? Why didn't you save him!?"
I stood, accepting my gift as he continued to rant. "Those two are beta-testers! They knew, but they didn't save him--"
I cut him off as I started laughing. When I had stopped, I started walking over to him. "Oh, come on now, you're downgrading me."
"What...?" He asked.
"Don't compare me to those newbs... You guys are at least ten times better than them." I said with a smirk.
"Exactly. We've been on higher levels then anyone in the beta. We know so much more than any info chart in the game." Kirito continued for me.
"You're not just a beta, you're goddamn cheaters!"
"They're beta-testers and cheaters! They're beaters!" Someone shouted.
"A beater?" I asked. "Yeah... I like that. Has a nice ring to it."
Everyone looked at Kirito and I silently. I went into my inventory. "Just don't compare us to those newbie beta-testers..." I said as I clicked on my new item, the hooded clock appearing on my body. I let out a low sigh as I walked over to the door to the next floor, Kirito close behind until Asuna called out to us.
"Wait..." She said. "During the battle, you called me by my name."
"I didn't want to sound rude, did I say it wrong?" I asked.
"No, but how did you know it?" She asked.
I turned a bit, pointing a little bit next to my head. "About right here, there's two more names and HP bars under yours."
"Kiri...to. Kirito. And Ky...o. Kyo?" She giggled. "How silly of me! It was there the whole time and I didn't even notice!"
I flashed a small smile before pulling my hood up onto my head. I then removed Asuna and Kirito from my party. "Wait! Where are you going?"
"If a guild asks you to join them, do it. You'll get a lot of perks that way." Kirito said.
"But...you two are solo." She said.
"Yes. We are. However, I join different parties from time to time. I hope to see you again soon, Asuna." I said before Kirito and I walked through the doors, going our separate ways.
When I saw sure I was alone, I looked around, making sure no one was close by or near me. When the coast was clear, I dashed forward at an impossible speed, making my way to the next floor as I would level up and become stronger than I used to. I won't lose to this game. Not now, not ever!
