As I woke up that morning, I let out a yawn. I was in just a bra and underwear since you don't wear pajamas when you sleep in this game apparently. Honestly, I thought it was kinda strange... But that's besides the point as I quickly put my outfit on. I had changed outfits as I was now wearing a black, spaghetti strap tank top; black short shorts; black thigh highs with matching fingerless gloves that went to my upper arms; black boots; my black breast plate; black scarf around my neck, and my hooded cloak, just barely going to my knees as the hood was off of my head.
I looked into the mirror of my motel room. A sigh escaped my lips as I saw myself. My long, crimson red hair and royal blue eyes staring back at me. I walked away from the mirror before strapping both my swords to my back in an "X" shape. When I was all finished getting ready, I checked out of my room and headed for the forest of this town on floor 35. When I got there, I heard screaming as I ran towards the source. Not even five minutes into running did I see three, huge gorilla monsters most likely wanting to finish someone off. Before they got the chance, I whipped my twin blades out and charged. In one, big slash, they all shattered as I saw a girl with dirty blonde, almost brown hair, in two pigtails look over to me with tearful scarlet eyes, sitting on her knees as she was dressed in all yellow, brown, and black.
She looked away from me and grabbed a feather that was floating on the ground, holding it to her face as she cried. "What's that?" I asked.
"It's Pina, my...best friend..." She said, sobbing.
"I'm sorry... If I had gotten here sooner, I could've saved your friend."
"No, it's my fault for thinking I could make it through the forest by myself..."
I walked over to her, crouching down. "That feather, check to see if it has an item name tagged to it."
She nodded and tapped the feather, an item name appearing as it read "Pina's Hearts." She smiled with tears in her eyes.
"Pina..."
"There is a way to revive it with a special item called the Pneuma Flower. It will revive any creature that isn't human and you can find it on Floor 46."
"Really? Oh... Floor 46, huh... I guess I'll level up and one day, I'm sure I can--"
"--But the revival time is only three days..." I finished.
She gasped. "No way..."
I looked away from her. "I'd offer to get it for you myself, but the floor only blooms if its owner is present."
"Oh..." She sighed before I stood up, the girl standing as well as she put the feather with her other items.
Her head dropped a bit as I scrolled through my items, giving her a bunch of things as she looked at them. "Here. I know it's not much, but this will bump you up a few levels."
"Huh? Oh, thank you." She then scrolled to her money that was known as cole in this game. "I know it's not enough to pay you back, but--"
"--No, it's okay. I came to this floor to check something out anyway, so in a way, we'll be helping each other."
She smiled. "Okay. My name is Silica."
"I'm Kyo."
"Kyo? Isn't that a boy's name though?"
"Long story..."
She just nodded. "Um, by the way, why did you save me from being killed a couple minutes ago?" She asked.
My smile disappeared from my face as I looked away from her gaze. "I'll tell you, but promise not to laugh or anything..."
"I promise."
