Camila bumped into a couple of students that were gathered in the assembly room. The vampires were everywhere and they were rowdy.
"Move." Camila commanded, pushing through bodies to try and get to her room. Hayley stood on a platform preaching and talking to her fellow vampires about them feeding on human blood.
Harry then stood next to her. It was his turn to speak and he told them about the pain he felt when Mr Cabello left him in the cell, forcing him to to feed off animal blood and draining the human blood from his system.
The wolves and the witches made their appearance and the vampires became on edge.
"This is a private meeting." Matt, a well known vampire in the school told Lauren and her pack.
"We just came to listen." Lauren explained and she glanced at her girlfriend that stood on the platform. They shared a look that Camila couldn't quite describe.
"Well listen to this." Matt made his way to the platform, shoving both Harry and Hayley out of the way. "We've been treated like second class for way too long! Mr Cabello lets the wolves run wild and free on the full moon, while they're a danger to everyone, but he forces us to drink the blood that doesn't satisfy our bodies. We were made to feed off humans, it's in our nature and Mr Cabello has been trying to suppress us. We're are nature's apex creatures and we shouldn't fear the wolves, they should fear us. After all they're only ever a threat to us on the full moon." Matt went off on a tangent and everyone began to number amongst each other.
The werewolves got angsty, vampires were stronger than them, they were no match for the blood suckers when it wasn't a full moon.
"And say Mr Cabello let's you drink human blood, you won't be able to control yourself. Harry's an example because I hear him screaming in pain at night, burning to sink his fangs into anyone he can find. You all will just become a danger to everyone." Lauren spoke up and the wolves and witches softly whispered in agreement.
"Are you scared of us Alpha Jauregui?" Matt rushed down the platform, standing face to face with Lauren.
"Take a step back." Lauren growled and Matt smirked, knowing that werewolves had short tempers. He just had to push the right buttons for her to snap.
"Matt that's enough." Hayley hadn't meant for it to go this far.
"Are you siding with your mutt of a girlfriend or your own kind?" Matt questioned his fellow vampire and Hayley glanced to her girlfriend, not saying a word.
"What is the meaning of all this!" Mr Cabello entered the assembly room and Camila wanted to crawl in a hold and hide.
"We were discussing the future plans when you let us start feeding off human blood bags." Matt told his principle.
"I already said that is not possible. You all simply wouldn't be able to control-"
"What if I have proof that we can control ourselves." Ariana said, catching everyone's attention.
"Proceed."
"I've been feeding off human blood little by little everyday and increasing that amount until I have full control. I'm almost in complete control and I feel fine." Ariana explained and Camila listened silently, hoping she wouldn't say that it was her blood.
"Where have you been getting this blood?" Mr Cabello asked and Ariana's eyes found hers.
"Um I-"
"Does it matter? The focus should be on letting the students at this school be who they truly are." Camila intervened and all eyes were now trained on her.
Her dad eyes widened. "Camila you-"
"No dad, they're right. You can't be running a supernatural school and stop the students here from being who they truly are. You always do the right thing Dad, so please, help them before this gets out of control." Camila spoke and her dad gave her a knowing look and sighed.
"Alright, listen up everyone. Tomorrow morning we will discuss the new rule regarding vampires feeding on human blood and I'll speak to a couple of students and the teachers of Mystic High so that we can come up with a solution. But right now, it's almost curfew and from I can remember you are all still children and follow my rules. So off you go and Matt, I'd like to have a word with you." Mr Cabello sternly pointed at the boy and he reluctantly followed the principle.
The rest of the students also dispersed, satisfied with Mr Cabello's words. Camila heard a few students mumble under their breaths her name, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.
"Hey." Lauren approached her, bringing Camila back to reality. "What do you want?" Camila scoffed, she wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone right now.
"I wanted to speak to you about the night of the full moon." The werewolf nervously fiddled with her sleeve. "There's nothing to talk about." Camila shrugged.
"I just wanted to apologise for leaving so quickly and-"
"Like I said, there's nothing to talk about." She brushed off, but Lauren could see straight through the persona she put up. Camila wasn't telling her something. Lauren eyes then fell to the red marks that tinted her neck.
"Who did that to you?" Lauren gasped, her fingers stroking the angry marks. "It's nothing." Camila said, but it wasn't nothing to Lauren.
"No tell me, because when I find out who did this, I swear." Lauren breathing was erratic and her eyes were golden instead of her natural emerald green.
"Woah, Lauren I'm okay." Camila quickly took ahold her Lauren's face, forcing her eyes to focus on her own.
"I'm fine, I promise." She truthfully told the werewolf and Lauren's golden eyes changed back and she calmed down.
"I know that you want nothing to do with me Camila, but promise me you'll come to me if you don't feel safe. And if you don't want to speak to me directly, tell one of the pack members." The look on Lauren's face was so sincere, it was as if she might lo- no, no. Camila shook her head from the stupid thoughts. The werewolf just wanted her to be safe and it wasn't unusual for Lauren to worry about others. She was always so kind and gentle and that's what Camila loved about her.
"I will." The shorter girl finally answered and Lauren let out a small breath of relief.
"Babe, can I talk to you." Hayley approached her girlfriend and Camila knew this was her queue to leave.
"I didn't think you'd wanna be seen with me. After all, I'm just a mutt right." Lauren turned to her girlfriend.
What Matt said about Lauren was awful and Hayley wished that she had said something earlier on. "What Matt said was terrible Lauren and I should've stopped it as soon as he begun speaking. All I wanted was for the vampires to have the same type of freedom that you guys get."
"I understand, Hayely, it just hurt when you didn't say anything to defend me."
"I know, I froze on the spot. But I don't think what Matt said was true and many of the other students don't agree with him too. You're a strong and kind leader, no where near a mutt." Hayley smiled and Lauren sighed, she couldn't stay mad at her girlfriend.
"Fine, but you have to make it up to me though." Lauren grinned and Hayley happily placed her lips against hers.
From a distance Camila watched them with sad and jealous eyes. What did Hayley have that she didn't? She was way better looking than the vampire and not to mention much smarter. She was also probably way better in be-
"Ready for our date?" Jordan, snuck up behind her. "We're still doing that?" Camila rolled her eyes, she wished that some miracle would happen to get her out this situation.
"Yes, lets go." He said with a smile and Camila took his hand and the pair snuck out the school to go to Jordan's mystery destination.
