[Enjoy,]
Five figures stood in front of the big entrance leading to the more secluded parts of the arena. They were at the moment signing up to compete in the fighting festival. A festival where monsters, dangerous and seemingly overpowered creatures are set against each other. The group of adventurers were speaking with one of the staff of the festival. Getting their group signed up and registered as one of the contestants.
"Um, excuse me sir, we're here to sign up," The feminine voice of Elanor spoke, the staff member, a human male looked up from his work and stared at the odd bunch. "Oh, of course, tell me your groups name and I'll handle the rest," He waited patiently for the groups answer.
Surprisingly enough, the group had yet to find a name for themselves. So they just stood there, blankly staring at the human. "Maybe go with something simple?" The person to break the awkward silence was Azure. The tall female looked at her fellow adventurers, "Something that says we're dangerous?" Sairina inquired, her voice smooth and nice.
"Something with blood?" Argusk stated, his voice deep, fitting with his appearance. "That's not a bad idea, maybe something more sinister?" "Yeah! What about 'The blood bones'?" said Lycan, her tail waving around in slight excitement. Everyone agreed on 'The Blood bones'. Elanor went over to the human and told him their decision. After some finished paperwork, they were given the way to the waiting area. The waiting area was big and had multiple people running around. Making sure they had all the necessary potions and whatnot.
Suddenly the voice of the announcer was heard, "Welcome folks! The fighting festival is about to begin, so take your seats and enjoy the show!" the group of five gathered near the arena entrance of the waiting room. Watching the four orcs walk in, covered in full plate armor, multiple big weapons in their hands and on their bodies.
"Here we have 'The Bone Crushers'! A team well prepared and well known! Hopefully their reputation is true? Give them a round of applause!" clapping filled the arena as the announcer continued, "Now for the first round; an owlbear! Let the match begin!" The announcer spoke, the team of five watched, knowing that they'll be out there soon. Argusk was leaning against the wall. A clear view of the fight that was going on, but he was busy preparing his magic sword. Elanor stood near Azure and Sairina. The three close together so they could see the arena. Lycan was checking and preparing for their turn, while also looking at the fighting. Everyone zoning out the voice of the announcer. Who constantly commented on the fight.
"And the Bone Crushers have won! It seems they do live up to their reputation! They will continue to the next round!" It took the orc team approximately five to ten minutes to kill the beast. The strong beast was defeated so fast, almost impossibly fast. The crowd cheered and clapped, chanting 'The Bone Crushers' over and over. The nervousness and excitement grew for the team. Then a group of five humans entered the arena, waving to the crowd. "Next up, 'The fighters'! A team with a lot of confidence and known for it! Let's give them a round of applause!" Most of the crowd clapped, some cheered and soon the chanting began, 'The fighters, the fighters!' repeatedly chanted within the arena. "Let the beast enter and the match begin!" The announcer announced. Soon another owlbear entered. The adventure group had moved from the entrance and sat down in the waiting room. Planning their strategy and talking amongst themselves.
"I'll stand in the front and take care of the melee. Elanor and Sairina stays in the back, Azure and Lycan in the middle," Argusk spoke, waiting for the others response. "Agreed." Said Azure and soon everyone else agreed as well. "I'll be saving my energy for the healing," added Azure, her tone harsh to make sure the others understood. They all stood up after hearing the voice of the announcer.
"The fighters have won! Congratulations! They will continue to the next round!" The announcer declared. The crowd cheered, clapped and chanted. Although some looked rather worried. Upon closer inspection, the fighters had multiple unconscious and were very injured. A staff team came in the arena and got the unconscious and injured safely inside to be treated.
