Chapter Six
It's Monday. But not just a regular Monday. Today is the day every girl gets excited about. Feburay 14th. Also, none as Valentine's day. I have to organize the whole dance as School President. Right now I'm in the school gym making sure everything looks nice.
“Lisa, put four balloons together not three!” I ordered.”Raise the banner higher, Tim”.
“I brought you lunch,” I heard a voice behind me. I turned. It was Will. I frowned.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. After, our arguement I didn't think I'd see him ever again.
"Well, I heard that a good friend is supposed to bring you lunch. So here I am," Will grinned, waving the bag.
"And what makes you think I forgive you?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Eric told me food is the way to forgiveness," Will said.
"He was right about that," I said.
He handed me the bag. I sat down on the table and he joined me. There was turkey and cheese sandwich, two heart-shaped cookies, and a bag of chips.”Thanks”. I took a huge bite into the sandwich. It tasted good and I wondered if he made it.
“I see your working really hard,” he glanced around the gym.
“Yeah. So who are you taking Katy the Witch to the dance?” I said, eating my sandwich. He nodded.
“She asked me,” he replied.
“So is it official yet? Are you guys in a relationship?” I questioned. I was curious.
“No. I wanted to go with someone else but she asked me and I didn’t want to be rude,” he explained. I wondered if he meant me. He couldn’t mean me. We’re just friends right? I was so confused.
“Oh,” I said.”Well, I’ll see you there”.
"With your boyfriend?" he asked. Oh, snap, I forgot I told him I had a boyfriend, I thought.
"No, actually we broke up. Well, I broke up with him. My mom was so close to finding out and I never really liked him anyways," I lied. Man, I'm impressed I came up with that lie.
“That sucks. Good thing,I didn't want to get beat up because I gave you roses," he said. I gave him a puzzled look. Everyone at school could send a rose to anyone they wanted to. I got a dozen roses and didn’t know who they were from.
“Those were from you!” I exclaimed. I shoved him playfully. He shoved me back and it went on and on. He pinned me back on the table. I rolled over and pinned him down too.
“Okay, I give up,” he grinned. We gazed into each other’s eyes for a moment. He touched my face gently and pushed my hair back.
“I should get back to work,” I said, and I got off of him.
"Yeah, I should probably go too," Will said."I'll see you at the dance". He left and I went back to work. But I glanced after him as he walked away. I wanted him. I knew I wanted him now.

When I got home my mom helped me curl my hair with the curling iron and she even let me put make up on.
