I was sitting on my bed, anxiously waiting for him to come back, but he didn't.  He usually came at around 7:00 in the morning, but it was already 1:15 in the afternoon.  I watched a pale figure appear, and hobbled over to my desk for today's ten hours of torture.
"You were waiting for him, correct?"
I recognized that voice, but I still wasn't prepared.  I almost fell back in my chair because of the shock.
"Be careful.  You don't want anything else to be broken."
"Why are you here, Mylo?"  I asked, turning my head towards the beautiful girl.
"I just wanted to tell you that the man who broke your knee is now doing his sentence of eight millenia in purgatory."  she replied. "The police recently found records of many other children who got bones broken by him. We found cases of jaws, arms, ribs…"
"Are you free to, uh, stay for a while?"
"Sorry, no.  I have to go to my parents' funeral."
  "What happened to them?"
  "Car crash."
"Did they join you in the spirit world?"
"No.  They weren't very good people…"
"Are you okay telling me what they did?"
  "Well…"
"It's perfectly fine if you wish not to share."
"It's okay.  I'll tell you.  They used to whip me and my brother with belts because we were friends with atheists."
"No wonder they went to hell.  It might actually be better if you don't go.  It could bring back some bad memories."
"You're right.  I still should go check on my brother though.  He gets cranky if he's with a babysitter for more than an hour."
"Do you want to come over later?"
"Sure.  I don't really like being in the spirit world, because there aren't really any people my age.  I mean, it's a good thing that people my age don't die as frequently, but it gets kind of lonely."
  "See you later, Mylo."
"Goodbye."  She disappeared, leaving me at my desk alone.  I pulled out my phone, and then I pulled up my favorite webcomic, 'Caninus' and began reading chapter ten.  I heard my door creak open. My mom was standing in my doorway. "Who were you talking to?"
"My crush." I replied without thinking.
"Okay.  Just wanted to know."  She closed the door and I went back to the webcomic.  I couldn't focus on the character dialogue, because the only thing on my mind was Mylo.  Her face was the only thing I saw when I stared into my screen. 'Maybe I do have a crush on her.'  I thought to myself.  I did think she was kind of cute.  She was kind of nice to me. Either way, she was the best thing that ever happened to me.
