I soaked in the warm bubble bath, the scent of lavender filling the room. Josie had recommended it to calm my nerves. I had been finding it difficult to eat or sleep within the last twenty four hours, the nerves attacking me at full force.
Aron and I had both blood shared already and we hadn't completed it...Josie had expressed her concerns on how focused Aron would be in finishing the claiming rather than my comfort.
Well that had certainly made me uneasy.
I had found myself going through my school books to read on soul bonding with vampires, and from what I had read it was very powerful. It was a life preserver for the party that was not a vampire, which meant part of his soul would interlock and become a part of mine.
If he died, I would die with him and vice versa.
Willa and I hadn't spoken since my outburst yesterday and I was glad for it, I didn't need her negativity at a time like this.
Foreign guests had been arriving all day and I knew my family and coven was due here this evening around dinner.
The bathroom door sounded with a knock followed by Aron's voice. "Can I come in?"
I bit my lip, remembering our few encounters in here. But he was asking...he hadn't just barged in. Quickly I clambered out of the tub and pulled on the towel robe, fastening it around me.
"Come in."
Sure he had seen me naked....and touched me in places, however they weren't on good circumstances and I was allowed to maintain a level of modesty, and I was glad he was sticking to his promise.
The door glided open and Aron strolled in, his crisp white shirt mostly unbuttoned but still tucked into his black pants. My breath caught, which shocked me. He would have heard it to; thankfully he didn't call me out on it.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he came to stand in front of me, his arms going around me.
"I'm not sure," I admitted. We stood in silence briefly as his eyes raked over me, in that way that had my stomach flipping. His eyes closed and I watched as he breathed deeply before he flashed them open.
"It gets harder every moment I am with you to resist taking you," his voice was strained and he released me.
His words sent a thrill of excitement and fear through me.
"This will be the last you see of me before our wedding, my beauty." He kissed my forehead and turned to leave and I quickly grabbed his arm.
"Wait," I blurted. He looked at me curiously and I sighed, running my hand down my face. "J-josie freaked me out," I started. "I-I know that completing the rest of the soul bonding will be intense...j-just promise me you won't l-lose yourself in it."
He seemed confused as he took my hands in his, "my number one priority is making sure you're comfortable and happy, love. Ignore Josephine, she over exaggerates. I love you Ashia, I will never allow myself to hurt you or cause you mistrust ever again."
I took a deep breath and nodded, accepting his gentle kiss on my lips. When I opened my eyes he was gone.
-
"Mother! Father!" I dove into them, wrapping my arms around both their necks. My mother broke down crying as she clutched at me and my father manoeuvred out of my choke hold, patting my back as my mother gripped me.
