Max Mayfield wasn't the only new kid in Hawkins. Blythe Kinney, a girl with the unbreakable habit of lying to those surrounding her, being a pretty damn good liar as well, moved from Florida to Indiana that year. And Blythe, just like her brother, "accidentally" told more lies than the truth, managing to lie her way into a friendship with Max.
Every time she told a lie, she marked it in her diary whenever she had the chance to, filling it's pages quicker than she wished to believe she was. Oh, and she made the stupid mistake of leaving her diary in her backpack, to which she left at the arcade after hanging out with her new friend, who read page after page of her writing sessions. All of the lies Blythe told, some she could hardly even remember herself, were out there in the possession of the angry redhead.
But Max was the realest friend Blythe has ever had, and part of her believed they could be something more. The more hopeful part of her, that is. Accepting herself while in the midst of trying to get Max back into her life was difficult, but working for something was better than having it handed to you on a silver platter. She learned that the hard way.

— one ofthe mostimportant lies she told was that her brother died from a sickness! he did die, but he died in a car accident the year before they moved to hawkins! it was just the two of them, but now that he's gone, it's just her.
— when max reads her diary, she is pissed. you can add in additional lies to add more to the plot if you'd like btw!
— blythe is pissed that she got caught in her lies, but she's also hurt that max broke her trust and read her diary.
— you can decide if she gets involved with, you know, the whole main plot of season two.
— when max forgives her, make sure you include that max wants to help her break her habit! it's going to be tough for them both, but they got this! :')
— you can decide if they end up together or not!
— blythe is a lesbian! at first, she thinks she bisexual, but (little backstory) she had her first kiss in florida with a guy, when she thinks back on it while questioning her sexuality, she realizes she doesn't like boys.
— it takes her a little bit to fully accept her sexuality, but that's just a little side plot!
— her father is an alcoholic since the death of her brother and he's hardly home! her mother tries her best to be there for the family but it's hard for her!
— when or if she comes out to her parents, her mother is supportive, her father is not. her mother will stick up for her! her father will leave with some chick from work he's been hooking up with!
