SUMMARY.
In which Jaxon comes to Hawkins
in search of his father and gets more
than he was looking for.

EXTENDED SUMMARY.

JAXON 𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐅𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 HE WAS A BABY. His mother had given him up to the system when realization hit her that she wasn't ready to be a mother. Don't get it wrong, she loved her child more than herself, but she knew she wasn't a stable parent, and she didn't want to put her child through that. So giving him up was the next best option, and that's exactly what she did. She brought him to the nearest Foster Home, and left him on the front steps.

Growing up, Jaxon had a lot of pent up anger towards his parents. He couldn't understand how they could just leave, how they could just drop him off and leave him behind like he didn't matter. He just wanted answers, he wanted to know why. So on his fourteenth birthday, he took all of his belongings and all of the research he had done on his parents before running away from the foster home he was staying at. He had set out to Hawkins, Indiana . . . the town his 'father' worked in. He had found out that his father, Jim Hopper, was the Chief of Police and that was the best lead he had on finding his parents.

All Jaxon wanted was to find answers to the questions that had clouded his mind for years . . . but he ended up getting a lot more than what he wanted.

NOTES.

Jaxon is an angsty asshole!!! He hates everyone and everything. He is rarely nice to people that he doesn't actually consider a friend.

Jaxon hates Hopper at first, like with everything in his
body. He blames him for having to stay in foster homes all his life, and blames him for never looking for him.

━ Jaxon isn't a fan of Eleven at first either, mainly bc she
got all of the love and support from Hopper that he never did. He doesn't understand how Hopper could take in a child he didn't know but not his own kid.

━ Hopper actually didn't even know he had a kid besides his daughter, Sarah. Jaxon doesn't buy it though and thinks that Hopper is just trying to save his own ass.

━ Jaxon and Max friendship!!!!! He can tolerate Max but won't hangout with her when she's with Eleven. So when Mike and El breakup, Jaxon kinda stops hanging around her since her and El become attached at the hip.

━ Jaxon and Will friendship!!! Jaxon is very much gay, and gets the same kinda vibe from Will so he decides to befriend him after he notices that all of his friends have kinda just ditched him. They definitely become best friends!!!! Jaxon tries to teach Will how to stick up for himself and tell his friends what he really wants instead of staying quiet.

━ Jaxon and Mike do not get a long at first either. Mike hates the way Jaxon treats Eleven, and Jaxon hates the way that Mike sticks his nose in other people's business. They have a frenemy relationship in the beginning, especially when Mike and Eleven break up. Jaxon feels bad for Mike somewhat but not really since he kinda hates him for how he treats Will.

━ Jaxon and Mike is very much a slower burn. Not extremely slow, but slow. Jaxon has years of anger that he needs to work out for himself, and a lot of pent up emotions towards his father and Eleven and doesn't really realize that he actually likes Mike. Mike is too hung up on Eleven to realize he might have feelings for Jaxon.

━ Jaxon and Will are the friends that everyone thinks are
together, but really aren't. There's no romantic feelings on either end, and there's no unrequited crushes between them.

━ I honestly feel like Hopper and Jaxons relationship shouldn't be completely repaired until towards the end of the book, before everything goes down.

━ Jaxon eventually stops having a grudge against Eleven because he realizes that it's not her fault that he had a shitty life or that Hopper "didn't want him."
