- 1 month later -

Erika's POV
It's now April 2nd, and we have our first game today. We've been working our asses off. The boys have their game after ours. Grayson has been super supportive, along with Anthony. But last night, I ran into Jakes friend chance. It didn't go so well.

Flashback
C) yo!
E) what?
C) slut. I can't believe you'd do that to jake.
E) leave me alone
C) I hope you know, jake enjoys other girls more than you.

That made me so mad.

E) you know what? Fuck off. Get a life. Stop doing drugs, and stop taking advantage of women. I hope you realize I can surely turn you into the police. And I'm sure you wouldn't want that would you? *raises voice*
C) I'll make your life a living hell. And that's a promise.

Back to present day

Chances words still haunt me. But today will be my day. I'm the starting pitcher, and we're playing NC. Aka a super advanced team.

- after school -

We're all in the locker room, when I heard Alissa scream and run to me, she handed me my phone and showed me the texts with Logan.

L) jake is awake
A) omg

My heart dropped. I'm so glad he's okay, but I'm not ready to face him. Anyway, we blast music and do our usual warm ups on the field. when the clock hits 6, it's game time. We're the home team, so we're in the field first. I take a deep breath, and I walk out to the mound. I throw a couple warm ups, and they're looking good. But now, it's game time. The first batter gets into the box, and I start my windup. I throw an low outside pitch, and they swing and miss. The next strike they watch, and they swing at the last one and they hit it. They hit it straight to Alissa on 1st base. She catches it, and the whole crowd cheers.

Fast forward to the last inning.

It's now the 8th inning, and we get last at-bats. It's tied. 15-15. and even worse, the pressure is all on me. There's 1 out, and the bases are loaded. If I don't hit them all I'm, im sorry but there's no way rocky can. I take a couple swings and I step into the batters box, all I could think about was jake, but I snapped out of it. I get in my zone, and I watch the first pitch. It was a strike. As the next one comes in, I already know it's gonna drop on me. So I swing as hard as I can, and BOOM I made contact. I watch as I sent it over the outfield fense. A home run. Everyone cheers and I jump up and down as I run the bases. WE JUST WON. As I run to home base, everyone huddles me and lifts me into the air.

Jakes POV
I actually, woke up a week ago. But I got out yesterday. We have a game after the girls, but I can't play till next week. But what erika doesn't know, is that ive been at her game the whole time. Logan told me how she was trying to come everyday to see me. I watched as erika won her team the game. I stand up on the bleachers and I yell her name and cheer with the boys after the teams shake hands. that's when she sees me, her eyes widen. I jump down from the bleachers as we run to eachother. She wraps her arms around me, and hugs me tight. I could see she's crying. I rub her back.

J) you didn't do so bad, ay? *smiles*

I lift up her chin so we're making eye contact. All a sudden it just starts pouring and everyone runs to their cars, except us. It's dark, and we're standing in the middle of the field. She smashes her lips against mine, and we make out. God did I miss her lips.

E) I'm so glad your okay *tears up*
J) I'm so sorry erika *looks down*
E) ja-
J) erika i, I don't deserve you.
E) what are you trying to say *sighs*
J) idk *sighs*

She slowly pulls away from me, and grabs my hands. She stares into my eyes and smiles.

E) don't ever hurt yourself like that again. You scared the living shit out of me!
J) why would you care? You broke up with me *sighs*

Erika's POV
Did he really just say that? I let go of his hands, and I feel myself filling up with anger.

E) Jesus, I fucking wonder why *raises voice*
