A typical day

"I'm home mom!" I yelled as I entered our apartment. My mom came out of her room wearing her usual work clothes. Her scrubs, tennis shoes, and face "mask".

"Good now do your homework." She glared at me. I had a tendency to play video games instead of homework, it never ended well.

"Yes mom."

"Okay, bye." she kissed the top of my head and left the house. Sitting down at the kitchen table I knocked out my math fairly quickly; to be honest I was pretty intelligent. I plopped down on the couch and turned on the Xbox. A knock on the door was followed by Grayson entering.

"Hey Ky!" He said sitting down next to me.

"What's up Gray?" I asked handing him a controller.

"Nothin' much. And you?" I shrugged. "Call of Duty?" He motioned to the Xbox.

"Nah, MW3." a grin emerged on his face as I pressed start. We started playing a mission and a few minutes in I noticed another player. I paused and tapped Gray on the shoulder. "Are we online?"

"No, why?"

"There's another player in there. Says he's a good guy, he's not playing with us." Gray pondered.

"Maybe it's just a glitch." We decided to ignore it. Looking at the gamer tag, I recognized the name.

"Gray have you heard the name Myles Berkley?"

"Yea, the head of Playcore." We then looked at each other.

"Gray,"

"Yea..."

"We're being watched." I turned off the Xbox and sat down. Just then the phone rang. Gray answered and handed the phone to me.

"Hello miss Locke."

"Hello."

"Nice match."

"What? Who are you?"

"On modern warfare. And I am Myles Berkley." I grimaced.

"What do you want?" I barked.

"Nothing much, were looking into you for something. Keep this a secret from everyone else." Then the line went dead.

"Ky are you okay? Who was that?" I was about to tell him but I remembered 'keep this a secret from everyone else'.

"I'm fine, it was Sash." He nodded. Me and Grayson had been friends forever, Sasha was the third kid in our group. But, she was at a funeral. Before Gray and I headed outside he put his SnapBack on backwards, he always did this. When we left I saw Natalia Reys walk down the street. We both knelt our heads and walked past.

"Where to?"

"Away from here," I mumbled. Then Natalia called after us.

"Ky! Gray!" Her high heels clicked on the pavement. I did a face palm and looked at her.

"Don't say our names so loud," I whined.

"Why?"

"Someone's after us." Gray replied. Natalia nodded and put her arm around Gray. He shifted uncomfortably and looked at me. I wanted to yell so badly for some odd reason. Gray took off his hat and sighed.

"What's wrong baby?" Natalia asked. Were they together? The thought of that made me cringe. Gray started to speak but Natalia's phone started beeping. "I got to go," she ruffled his brown hair and left.
