The scene before her took a moment to sink in. The screams rang in her ears as everything around her seemed to stand still. Her hands shook for a moment. Unsure of what to do.

James stood with one of the masked men in a head lock, arms wound tight around his neck successfully cutting off his oxygen. He heard the gun fire and in shock watched as Hammer went down. His brother was hit. The harsh reality made him spring into action, knocking out the man in his arms and springing for the trigger happy kid in front of him. He tackled him to the ground as he heard another gun shot, expecting the all familiar pain of a bullet tearing up his skin, he was shocked to feel nothing.

The kid underneath him began to scream 'Father' as James took in the scene before him. Genevieve had been pushed to the ground, with a body on top of her. She quickly pushed the blood covered body of their leader off of her before everything began to sink in.

She had killed him. He lunged for her, managed to hit her and wrap his hands around her throat... but she was faster. She watched the colour drain from his face as his eyes never left hers. She remained still as the gang members tried to run, most of them escaping before the police busted down the doors of the bank. One of the members ran for her. Pulling her up by her hair and delivered a sickening blow to her cheek. She heard the distinctive crack of breaking bones before she hit the floor once again.

Behind the officers which flanked the room and scouted the area for remaining members, Axel and Chaos came running in. Genevieve still couldn't comprehend what she had done.

She had killed him.

She had killed again.

The throbbing in her cheek was the only thing she felt, she was numb.
Axel took in the sight before him for a moment, the three bodies coated in blood, the crying hostages, James trying to stop Hammer's bleeding and most importantly the face of his sister. She sat shaking like a leaf, dropping the gun beside her. He could see the bruises already forming on her body, her broken cheekbone and her pale face underneath the blood. Rushing to her he pulled her from the floor and into his arms.

"It's okay. You're okay. You're safe now. I'm here" he said to her quickly, trying his best to calm her down.

"Hammer" was all she whispered as she looked over Axel's shoulder. Her eyes didn't leave him as he was lifted onto a stretcher and rushed away.

It wasn't until she sat in the back of an ambulance that her mind registered the world around her.
"Hon, are you feeling okay" a woman asked her, presumably this was her ambulance. Genevieve didn't know what to answer as she looked around her as shapes began to register. She could still feel the blood which coated her body. It felt sickly hot and as though it was burning through her skin. She felt the throb in her face pounding against her head, beating along with the frantic rhythm of her heart. She hadn't been in an ambulance since that night and although it seemed so long ago now, her mind was definitely reliving that night.

"Gen! Genevieve!" She could hear someone shouting in the distance. Looking up, avoiding eye contact with the bodies being rolled out of the bank he eyes connected with James's, and that is when the tears broke free.
Pushing aside the woman tending to her bruised face, Gen launched herself at James seeking only the comfort he could give her. He wrapper her around him and pulled her as close as he possibly could. He felt her shaking as she cried onto his shoulder as he put his hand on the back of her head and tried to calm her down.
"I'm here, I've got you" he whispered comfortingly, he caught Axel's eye besides the ambulance sharing a long long between the too of them. Relief that she was okay and that she was safe now.

"Come on sweets you gotta get back to paramedics, they need to look after my änglalik"

"Please don't make me go back in there. I don't want to remember" she whispered to him panicked. "I'm with you okay. I'll stay by your side, it'll be okay".

The whole of the club sat in the hospital waiting room patiently awaiting news of Hammer's condition.

Thor sat silently in a chair next to the bed they had put Genevieve in when she had arrived. After the nurse had finished tending to her injuries she left the couple to themselves.
"Talk to me Sweets. Tell me what you are thinking." He begged.

"I killed him. Without even thinking I pulled the trigger and I killed him." She said coldly.

"And if you hadn't? He could have killed everyone in that room Genevieve. He could have killed me or you. You saved lives today Gen. You got us out" he took hold of her hand and placed a kiss on her knuckles.

"But that's two now. Two lives I've..." She was cut off by Axel entering the room with a small smile.

"Doc says that you can go home soon, he's happy that you're A okay."

Soon enough the three of them were back at the siblings apartment. Genevieve hugged Loki tightly before slipping behind the door of her room and closed it behind her.
"You think she is going to be okay?" James asked Axel as they both stood looking at the door at the end of the hall.
"She always is"

He tried to leave her alone, but James couldn't help find himself outside her door knocking gently. He walked in to see her tucked up under her sheets silently crying. He pulled back the sheets behind her and slid in, taking her in his arms. They stayed like that for hours until the sun could no longer be seen from her window and the cold of the night began to draw in.

"It's getting late" James said, hoping that she wouldn't tell him to leave.
"Stay with me, please?" She whispered into the crook of his neck before she looked up to him. Her hand made its way up his chest, through his facial hair and rested on his cheek.
"I need to tell you what happened. Why I had to come here." She said to him impatiently. "There's people that are after me James. And now I've killed that man. My family want me dead." She hadn't noticed the tears which had began falling until his hands wiped them away.
"You're going to hate me when you know. You won't love me if you know I've killed two people."

She had began to ramble now, completely in a trace. James was worried about her but he know she had to get everything off her chest. He knew what guilt looked like.

"It was raining. The biggest storm anyone had ever seen. I had been out with my friends. I had such a fun time. No one wanted to be nice to me because I was blind, so I was so happy that they asked me to go.

He came to pick me up, he had just past his driving test and he was so excited. When we were driving home we didn't stop laughing. We always had the best time together but ... the rain just kept getting harder and harder. He couldn't see the road in front of him.

The next thing I heard was tired screeching and the car flipped. I can't remember how many times. All I could hear was the metal of the car crunching. And then it stopped.

I was so scared. My breathing was so hard and my head was spinning.
I reached out my hand to touch him, to ask if he was okay. But the drivers seat was empty. He wasn't there."

James was confused as he watched her emotional rant, he couldn't stop her tears as he tried to hold her tight.
"Who wasn't there Gen? Who was in the car with you?"

"I was blind James. I had been blind since I was ten years old. But I had opened my eyes and I could see his body. I saw him laying in the middle of the road. But he wasn't moving. I saw his blood spilling on the road." She reached for her hair and pulled it tight at the root. Unable to comprehend the sickening memories which still haunted her.

"Who was it Genevieve?" James asked again sternly and he tried to pull her out of her stupor.

"My brother. My twin brother, Phoenix"
