17 - Diavolo X Reader (part 1)

"You called me?" I said as I walked into student council's room. 

"Yes, please, sit." Diavolo said gesturing to the seat in front of him, "I was wondering how you're finding it here? Are you comfortable at school, and at the House of Lamentation?"

"Oh, I love school here! It's so interesting!" I said, a bit nervous in the presence of Diavolo and his handsome face, "And the House of Lamentation is... Well, it is what it is. I'm only here for a year, so it's not that bad"

"Now, now. I want all exchange students to feel comfortable here." He said with his award winning smile that made my insides melt, "Would you prefer to stay with somewhere else? Perhaps in my castle? Barbatos suggested the idea the other day, that you may not have enough space to yourself sharing the House of Lamentation with the brothers."

"That would be wonderful! As long as it's not too much of a bother for you," I said, elated at the idea of living in the same place as Diavolo.

"We'd love for you to join us." He said, standing up from his desk, walking over to me, "Bartbatos and the brothers will help you move in as soon as you're ready."

His consideration for me was the main reason I could feel a crush beginning to form. He never failed to ask how I was when we saw each other in the halls, along with other small acts of kindness that would usually go unnoticed.

It only took a few days to move everything into the demon lord's castle, and I adjusted well to the new room. My room wasn't too far from Diavolo's room, and he was insistent that I didn't need to hesitate to call on him whenever. My heart melted at that statement.

The second night, Diavolo invited me to his room for afternoon tea, and I stressed over what to where, deciding I shouldn't worry so much and just putting on a simple dress.

"Welcome!" Diavolo greeted with a warm expression. 

There was a cute round, two-seater table set up in Diavolo's spacious room, with a tea set and snacks set out.

"Oh, how nice!" I said, sitting down when Diavolo presented the chair to me, "I have to admit, I feel a bit weird sitting in your room having tea and snacks!"

"How so?" Diavolo asked and poured me some tea into a cute pink teacup with flowers painted on it, "I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."

He was way too nice to me I thought, "Oh, I'm comfortable! It's just odd I guess it's just strange to be in the room of someone so... powerful?"

Diavolo smiled softly, "I suppose I understand. Could you do me a favour thrn? For tonight, treat me as you would any other person."

"I can try, but even if you weren't as powerful as you are, I still wouldn't be able to treat you like a normal demon."

"Why is that, Y/n?" He asked, placing his elbows on the table and resting his chin in his palms.

His eyes bore deep into me and I could feel the urge to tell him how I felt bubbling inside of me. But I resisted, it would be too awkward if he didn't feel the same.

"You're different from the other demons," I said instead of confessing, "You're truly kind."

"Haha, you have no idea how nice that is to hear," Diavolo said and we continued with our afternoon tea.

The next day was a day off from school so Diavolo invited me out. Barbatos stressed for a bit before we left, worried he couldn't join us as he had too many errands to tend to, but Diavolo assured the butler we wouldn't be going too far. I was worried myself about spending the day alone with Diavolo. He had some sort of impact on me that made me want to tell him anything and everything.

We walked around town for about an hour before finding a nice cafe to rest at. I let Diavolo choose a tea for us and we continued our conversation about school.

"Are you sure the workload is alright?" He asked, "I'm always here to help if you need, even if it's just one question."

"It's alright, days like this where I get to relax help!" I said, elated to be taking so casually with Diavolo, "If I was just working constantly I might struggle a bit, but when I get to have a break like this I feel refreshed."

Diavolo laughed, "Yes, I agree. I often find ways to have small breaks, even if I have to evade Barbatos to do it. We should do this again, how about the same time next week?"

"Sounds good!" I was already preplanning my outfit for our next outing in my head, excited to spend more time with him, even if he only saw it as a break from working.

Short ass chapter but I have a fair amount planned for the second part!! When I went back to this it was already half way done but I had forgotten what I was writing so I had to come up with something new that'll hopefully be good!!!

It's been a while since I've done much on here, Im slowly moving everything to AO3, along with posting most new stuff there too! (I have some Winx fanfics and soon there'll be some stardew valley one shots over there eheh)

After I finish up what I have in my drafts here (the ace reader X asmo and the second part to the Satan coffee/bookshop thing) I'll probably be focusing mostly on AO3 unless I get any specific requests ❤️

Probably a while before the second part of this Diavolo one is out, but be on the lookout for ace asmo!! I'm having a fun time going back to writing lately so I really hope y'all enjoy it ❤️
