It was a fine night on Akiridion-5.
The stars of the universe glittered and shined as a young Akiridion watched them. His slightly glowing body was seated upon the gardens that the palace had, a pair of his four arms held his chin up as his other pair of hands were still on his knees.
A noise from the bushes that had been brought from another planet long ago - that was why only the palace had gardens, the organic foliage was priced high upon the Akiridion-5 market - made the young Akiridion look at them.
A sigh left the male Akiridion's lips, "You don't have to run away, again," he told whoever was hiding amongst the green.
A female Akiridion, younger than the male, came out from the bush. Her head was covered by the hood of her cloak, but the male Akiridion could still see her faintly glowing eyes, even from the distance that he was at from her.
"How do you always know, cousin?" the female Akiridion asked him, a pair of her own four hands reaching up to draw her hood back.
The male Akiridion gave her a soft smile, he knew that his cousin would see the mirth within his eyes, "Your foot-falls," he gave her the answer she sought, "While they are softer than most, they had a certain pattern that is only unique to you, cousin."
The female Akiridion sighed as she moved closer to her cousin, "You are too knowledgeable at times, Arill."
Arill only gave the female Akiridion a smile that said that he knew all too well the abilities of his knowledge, "It is the price to pay," he sighed, "But, back onto topic, Aja."
Aja crossed all four of her arms over her chest, "You're not going to stop me, are you?"
Anyone would have been able to hear the threat in her voice, only few would hear how her voice cracked slightly at the end, proving how badly she needed to get out of the castle grounds. Arill was one who could recognize both the threat and the plea.
Arill's eyes met his cousins, another sigh leaving his lips, "I'm not," he relented, already feeling regretful as Aja's face lit up, "But you must promise to back for the ceremony, don't leave Krel to face the crowds alone."
He knew that even as he asked her to, that she wouldn't keep the promise, even if she did promise, "Promise," Aja smiled at him, "I will be back in time for the ceremony."
Arill gave her a smile in return, "Have fun, cousin."
"Thank you, Arill," Aja whispered to him as she pulled her hood back over her head. Leaving her older cousin to enjoy the peace of the universe.
Arill waited until her footsteps had faded away, and turned his eyes to the sky, his legs moving so he could rest his chin on his knees, and his arms wrapped around his legs.
